Tuesday 3 September 2013 21:22

The Alton Towers website has today been updated to confirm full details of this years Scarefest line-up for 2013, including prices, scarerooms and more!

We’ve got a quick round-up of what to expect from this years event…

Scare Mazes

The same three scare mazes from the 2012 event return once again this year. They are The Sanctuary, Terror Of The Towers and The Carnival Of Screams.

The Sanctuary: is a medical facility, established in the 1950’s by the Ministry of Joy, the same organisation associated with this years brand new ride: The Smiler. The Sanctuarys’ founding member Dr. Kelman has this message for all new patients:
“I’m so glad to see you’re all enjoying the emphatic success of The Smiler! However, let’s not forget where it all started! The Sanctuary began this process and whilst there were failures, I truly believe we can still surpass modernistic approach of The Smiler! The Sanctuary will open its doors and will correct you in the most effectual way possible. book your appointment now to avoid bitter disappointment. Thank you.”

The Sanctuary is based within the Towers complex and is open daily between 1PM – 9PM.

Terror of the Towers: What lies within. A team of urban explorers have recently gone missing from the Towers, can you follow in their footsteps and make it out alive? Or will you become another victim of What lies within? Enter the Historic towers, through the rubble and historic artefacts but be careful, if you go too far you might find something sinister, and if you keep looking you might regret it.

For the first year ever, Terror of the Towers is a paid maze, and is located within the Towers complex. It is open daily between 1PM – 9PM.

The Carnival of Screams seems to be going down a slightly different route this year and seems to be based around Jack Nife, a knife thrower whos final and most deadly blade missed its all important target! After many years of practice and preparation in the delusional confinement of the carnival tent, all the circus acts are rejuvenated ready to restore the ‘GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH’ status.

The Carnival of Screams was last year located near Sonic Spinball in the Goal Striker unit, however the location is yet to be confirmed for this years event.

This year The Carnival of Screams is included with your ticket entry price with The Sanctuary and Terror of the Towers being paid for entry. All three mazes will also have a limited number of Extreme Maze Experience tickets, available to buy on the day.

The location for the Zombies scare zone is once again near to the Dark Forest. It opens daily at dusk and is included in your theme park ticket.
