The Haunted Hollow is a slightly themed path connecting Mutiny Bay with Gloomy Wood.

This new "attraction" for the 2007 season cost £3.64 and was marketed at any stray Thorpe Park fans with a pathological aversion to theming, by allowing them by-pass the Katanga Canyon area of the park. Studies showed that they were turned off by its jaunty music and friendly atmosphere.

While many believe the Haunted Hollow to be a shortcut, it is nothing of the sort. It simply means that the steady gradient between Mutiny Bay and Gloomy Wood (via Katanga Canyon) is replaced by one swift, harsh climb which leave guests out of breath and irritable.

Haunted Hollow Live

During Alton Towers' now annual Scarefest event in 2008, the Haunted Hollow was utilised as something of a family friendly walkthrough scare attraction. The idea was pulled the following year, due to a spate of inflatable hammer assaults on actors.
