The first signs of track construction can be seen from outside the park, and Alton Towers release the first official promotional image showing track in place.
It may have taken a while to get going, but recent weeks have seen an explosion of SW7-related news and information, so we’re here to give you a round-up of things you may have missed.

Alton Towers Resort have confirmed to TowersStreet that 2013 will see the launch of two SW7 themed rooms at the Staffordshire Resort’s hotels
Today it was revealed by the social media giant Facebook that the UK’s favourite place to ‘check-in’ in 2012 was the Alton Towers Resort!
We’re taking a quick break away from our Alton Towers closed season coverage and taking a look at what Merlin have in store for us at their other attractions across the UK in 2013.
After we revealed vertical construction has begun, we head down to the Resort to take a look at what’s going on. There’s been a massive delivery of rebar with track being moved piece by piece from the car parks to the construction site.
A small update from 2nd December. Some steelwork has arrived on site which will presumably be used for the ride’s buildings.
Following seemingly slow construction recently, TowersStreet have today been informed that SW7 has gone vertical, with track supports beginning to rise on the site.
