Nemesis
"Night rides", or rides in the dark, are one of the best bits of Scarefest or Fireworks, but which is everyone's favourite?

Personally for me it's Thirteen, although Wicker Man is a close second. :)

Thirteen is arguably the biggest improvement, but as it's coming from so far back that still leaves it mid-table at best.

Nemesis is the clear winner for me.

Any of the rollercoaters at night are all good. The smiler at night is great because you are completely disorientated. Nemesis is a close 2nd and my favourite Oblivion. Wickerman is also good in the dark for the fire effects. Any ride in the dark will feel faster and steeper.

Just avoid any indoor attractions at night (hex and duel etc...) do these during the day and utilise your night time riding just solely for the coasters.

Thirteen is actually worth riding in the dark, compared to the day when it's just a slog to do.

I'd have to say Wicker Man. Back row, last ride of the day after 10pm when it's belting around. A rare treat you're only likely to get once or twice a season.

I find Thirteen indoor section is better during the day when it's light and the outdoor section is better after dark. Just remember not to look at that blinding camera flash after dark, unless you want to suffer temporary blindness

Interesting that a lot of people are picking Thirteen, which in the last couple of years has barely operated at night at all due to the minimum temperature requirements.

That surprises me as I find that when it's dark outside, the indoor section is pitch black, which makes it more fun.

I find it's the opposite as when you come in from the day light to the darkness, it takes some time for your eyes to adjust making the indoor section appear darker.

The opposite happens at night where as your eyes are already accustom to the darkness, so the indoor section don't appear as dark.

Voted for Wickerman. 13 is definitely the biggest ‘improvement’ at night but wickerman just feels faster at night! Plus I love the second drop on it because you have been blinded by the camera flash and mist so you can’t see anything, and then you just feel your whole body drop. The back row especially is such a rush :)

I remember going on nemesis as the last ride of the day during one Scarefest. Was probably 9.30 when we got on it, front row in the dark. It felt totally insane and out of control like it was going to come off the tracks. Still to this day it was the most incredible ride experience I’ve ever had at towers.

Our worst night ride was one of the last rides of the day on Air when some people decided the quickest way to the car park was via the ride area. We were emergency stopped on the brakes for 5-10 minutes, but we all really needed a wee! Lying in the flying position for that long with a full bladder wasn't great.
