Park Map

I think the Merlin logo may be on there due to CBeebies Land (as the deal is between BBC Worldwide and Merlin - not a direct deal with AT).

I like the 3D planet look so hope it's pointing towards a new marketing style - stuff doesn't usually get custom made for The Sun's promotion so fingers crossed it is a new marketing look for Towers.

I really like the image. It is similar to previous styles but I think it works really well. They need a bit of a re-brand so hopefully this is the first hint at it.

:)

I like that image. Its fun, bright and family focussed. I can see the map being like the above promotional image. It's in-keeping with Cbeebies.

It actually wouldn't surprise me if we see the addition of Merlin branding a lot more now, they have rebranded the MAP and have a bunch of shareholders.

It's a sort of look who we are and all these places we operate.

If that's the new map, then it seems to be quite an improvement on the previous one. Hotels are still taking up a bit too much room for my liking, and the Gardens still seem a bit small, but overall, I'm impressed. Could be improved in some ways, though, but overall, not bad.

It's looks like the 2008 map just modified with The Smiler and CBeebies Land on. :p Looks far better!

Looks like an improvement on last year's, though that's not hard. Still a long way to go before it's accurate, but at least the paths are visible.

I assume the CBeebies land will be uncovered once it's open, and will actually feature on the map.

I'm impressed. Was expecting an explosion of colour and mess. Very nice AT, now just stick with this idea of simplicity and clarity for all future maps. Kthnx

They've fused the 2008-10 style with the 2011-13 style. The drawings of Nemesis and Air are back to how they originally were. :p

I'd suspect that, if the map is to stay this way (I somehow doubt that the menus and lists will feature on the real map), then it'll only be used until before May with a new map being introduced for May onwards.

I much prefer this to the previous map though. :)

It is definitely better than it was before but it does look like a rather lazy modification of the 2011-13 maps.

If it wasn't for the fact Oblivion is still facing the wrong way I think I would like it overall.

It's a start. At least routes around the park are decipherable now and everything isn't cluttered and crowded around each other as much.It does still have a long way to go until it's truly a fully functional, pleasant looking map.

I genuinely wish they would go back to the Habbo style ones! :)

I really didn't like the habbo style. It was cheap and tacky and they only did it because it was trendy at the time.

Nice to know they've sorted the Oblivion problem. :/

I do really like this new map, a huge improvement, still lacks proper layout of Dark Forest though. Spinball is small, really, really small. The rest of the map looks like a merge of the 2008-10 map and the 2011-13 map, with FV and GW looking like 08 and the Hotels, X - Sector and Dark Forest looking like the last design. It does look really nice. :)

I don't get why they couldn't create a new design rather than re-hash two old ones.

The creative juices are running dry somewhere.

It's ok, but nothing special.

This map is a mash up of the two previous versions of the map. You have bits from the 2008-10 map (e.g. Nemesis, Rita, Katange, The Towers) with bits from the 2011-13 map (e.g. Thirteen, The Smiler, Oblivion). Then there's some kinds of new bits but they are largely based on modifications from one of those two previous map designs.

The big positive is that this looks much easier to navigate than the previous map. And it is still vusually pleasing on the eye, unlike the awful Habbo maps. Towers Street is also now a lot more prominent which is a good thing.

Negatives. Well X-Sector looks dreadful! Thanks to CBeebies Land it has been crammed in, it's as if they didn't want it there. A lot of detail seems to have been lost in X-Sector. I also feel that due to the 'area information' boxes around the map there is a lot of space that hasn't really been fully utilised. However it will be interesting to see what is on the other side of the map considering a lot of what normally is there is now on the front.

Overall I'm pleased that the map is better than last years. However I am disappointed that it is not a totally new map. Mashing together what they have had before seems a slightly lazy (and probably cheaper) way of coming up with a 'new' map.

:)

It looks better than last years - I mean the Smiler looks like its actually in X-Sector this season, not behind the farm!

Cbeebies is MASSIVE for no reason aside from just to show it off. The Hotels as ever take up too much space. The gardens look tiny.

I like the ride names have made it onto the map, makes it easier for people to navigate but then whats on the back of the map? Surely the hotels and resort side should be there then they can spread out and show the features better - maybe even a watermark map too!
Then with the resort side off the theme park map, they can proportion things correctly. Its not a ridiculous request for the park to be in perspective to how it is.
