Festival talk

Oh dear...

I get that Leeds/Reading have had to adapt to change, but why Paramore?! I was there in 2010 and it did not go down well, to put it kindly! And Arctic Monkeys, a very vanilla headliner.

It's a solid line up. Granted it's a solid line up of regurgitated bands, but it will appeal to the L+R demographic. The Sunday of Leeds is a solid day (minus Jake Bugg) and there are a lot of good bands that are yet to be assigned stages.

Obviously it's each to their own though. It does kinda makes me wanna go again haha :)

nuttin wrong with that, bands I've either not heard of or don't mind, only bands I dislike on that list are A Day to remember and sleeping with sirens,

Though I don't like Blink songs were Tom deLonge sings (especially live), Hoppus is alright.

Don't understand the anti-Paramore, they seem to be doing very well this year.

As I've said before massive rock bands are very few and sadly arctic monkeys are probably the best around its crap

The headliners are solid, but they are all rock artists- which is a bit boring, really. And Jake Bugg and Macklemore co-headling?! I've got no problems with them playing, but that high? Have in mind that both are sitting on very small amounts of material. Considering that last years co-headliners were Chase and Status, System of a Down and Nine Inch Nails, this is a massive step down. And the rest of the main stage is full of rock music, again. You would have thought there would be at least one metal band, but obviously not. The second stage has quite a few nice bands- like Temples, Warpaint, Cage the Elephant etc.- but are they really going to convince anyone to go? When Disclosure are the only really great and original act on the second stage that I want to go out of my way to see what has R+L come to?

Clean Bandit and SBTRKT are both orginal and distinct, from anything else in the electronica front but apart from that, this an uninspired line up at best.

Remember when R+L used to be headlined by people like RATM? It's barely better than V Festival these days. One step up from T4.

I booked my reading ticket as soon as i heard blink were closing the festival. The memories they evoke for me are incredible and with arctic monkeys being my favourite artist at the moment it was a no brainer for me. Being a big fan of nero too (thanks 2011 fireworks!!) i'm gutted that they clash with arctic monkeys!

Day tickets for Sonisphere are going on sale on Wednesday.

I'm definitely going to buy one for the Saturday, just for Iron Maiden!

Quite possibly one of the most disgusting festival posters I've ever seen, however, I am still devastated that I didn't get tickets.
