Scarefest 2014

The actor who played Doctor Kelman has left the resort so I wouldnt expect him to feature in the sanctuary again.

No I don't really. That's why I believe they may project the maze to run alongside The Smiler rather than the slightly odd *BUT AWESOME* juxtaposition The Sanctuary and The Smiler had.

Nothing to get excited about, but the new 2014 park map does mention Scarefest will be back (well i'm sure we knew that already!), however apart from the usual marketing talk, there is no mention of what will form part of Scarefest this year.

It will run from 18th October till 2nd November.

Yeah I think this will happen The modernisation of The Sanctuary because of The Smiler influenced by the people who created The Smiler against Kelman's wishes :twirly:

Though I adored the original, as everyone knows, the new one from the viral videos had potential to be really rather creepy.

Be good (IF YOU ARE WATCHING) if they could have a modern exterior, but maybe keep the old style beneath the basement - preferably with Dr Kelman in it - which isn't going to happen, but I can hope lol!

What I was thinking exactly upstairs is modern downstairs is similar to before creating a contrast between The Sanctuary and The Smiler.
Also would be good to add 'new' marmalisation with the different elements from The Smiler

They could do a lot more with it now! If they got given a decent budget I'd be confident the in house team could do a fantastic job.

Good ideas dude!! Fingers crossed (alternatively, get a job there and sort it out! ;D)

Again, Scarefest will come down to budget again. There's so much that could be done, needs to be done and wants to be done but I get the feeling that the budget shrinks while the event gets more popular.

What worries me is that entertainments will receive a massively increased budget this year for park operations because of CBeebies Land and the amount of ents staff it will require. Will the increased staffing for CBeebies Land encorach onto the Scarefest budget?

Knowing Towers there would be an increased budget for ents but that will be only just enough to cover CBeebies Land.

Although with the park keepers still there and new traffic actors that seems to show the budget for ents must be better this year? Unless they have just done poor planning with budgets.

Scarefest gets a seperate budget.

I doubt they will fund much extra though, certainly for mazes.

The Scarefest budget is determined by the gate numbers during the year. A poor season for AT in terms of people visiting and spending money will mean a poor Scarefest. Lets hope for a good summer!

I imaging that the summer figures will break records this year.... The Smiler still 'new' and CBland... I think we could be onto a winner for SF. </optimism>

There is so much that could be done with scarefest every year, but as you are all saying its the budget that lets us down. Surely with the event becoming a lot busier every year, they would see this as a chance to make SF amazing? I hate waiting to find out about it all! SF is also the highlight of my year, and with last year being great I don't want to be let down this year :/ TOTT was the best for me last year, did it change slightly?

Really do miss the field and scarefest from 2008 and 2009
I wonder whether they'll bring that back ever? Can they or are new developments planned for that site?

I just wonder because it only lasted three years, and was incredibly popular.

Boiler House featured in 4 events whilst Carnival has featured in 4 too; 5 if it returns this year. I'm sure Field could do another three and still maintain its popularity because it's the most unique.

Personally, I really hope that Terror of the Towers gets a makeover this year. A new story line featuring new costumes, a slightly different layout, different music and hopefully some masks rather than the generic white face paint would be great.

They can't bring the Field back in that location as it is where the lodges are being built for next year. I personally don't think they will ever take any of the mazes off the park again now.

:)

From the Q&A last year, it all comes down to budgets. They simply don't have the available cash to spend on new props and dressing for brand new mazes. :(

They only managed to get The Sanctuary through because it came under the budget for the marketing of The Smiler.

:)
