The gardens are nearly non-existent and Th13teen appears to be opposite Extraordinary Golf now. :p

The 'Enchanted Forest coming soon' part reminds me of how the park used to let people know about future developments in the 90s and early 00s and it looks really smart! No prizes for guessing this is a family year though. There's heavy emphasis on everything 'family' - particularly Cbeebies Land (obviously), Cloud Cuckoo Land and Mutiny Bay. I like the use of the signs for those three areas too, and it's a shame that they haven't done the same for the others. It certainly reaffirms the map's emphasis on the family attractions this year.

I still say the resort needs to be on a separate map by itself to allow more space for the park. We know Merlin love to remind everyone of their 'theme park resorts', but the theme park and the resort are two different things and should go back to being treated as such, for the sake of a more practical and less cluttered map.

Overall, it's nice. :)

Thats because the Map is specifically made for families with small children as it says on the front ;) This is to run along side the normal Resort Map

Ah, forgive me! Scrolled right past that for the good stuff. :p

The bugs look fairly naff if you ask me. They look like eggs.

As much as I love the credit, i'm afraid that photo was not me, I was stuck at work today :(

I don't mind the new ride cars, they look fresh and bright. Will look nice going around the new bright area, plus it has audio now!

Re: 2014: CBeebies Land

I do think the new ride cars look better than I expected, especially know the yellow blobs have been added on. Its not the best theme for a ride but it could have looked a lot worse (could have looked a lot better as well) I'd have prefered them to be planes or something, similar to Coco Piloto in SesamoAventura. But I wouldn't complain on the whole!

Re: 2014: CBeebies Land

I really like them, also you don't see it very well in a picture but in person the cars have a textured pattern on them which makes them look more pleasing.

Re: 2014: CBeebies Land

So, the CBeebies Land Facebook page has just posted a new album showing off the new area up close! I have to say, it looks absolutely fantastic, incredibly pleased with how this has turned out!

Some Highlights;

Re: 2014: CBeebies Land

Charlie & Lola as well as the windmill both look poor tbh... 2d facades in a theme park environment don't work well...

Rest looks good though... Tree Fu Tom especially...

I love the Charlie and Lola building. It matches the style of the program perfectly.

Re: 2014: CBeebies Land

Apart from the Charlia and Lola facade which I think looks cheap, it all looks really good. Will be good to see it all in person on Saturday!

:)

Re: 2014: CBeebies Land

See I think the Charlie And Lola building looks fantastic! As MiserableMonkey says, it matches the style of the program!

The cartoon is all entirely 2D animation made to look like children's drawings, so really anything other than 2D cut outs and flat facades just wouldn't have looked right!

Re: 2014: CBeebies Land

I'm really surprised at how CBeebies Land has turned out. I thought it looked awful for the longest time, but seeing the area up close and in greater detail shows that the amount of new theming is far more substantial than I first assumed and the repaints don't look anywhere near as tacky as I expected. It's just nice to see the area looking bright and new again, obviously the farm was a better area but Cbeebies Land is looking really nice :D

Re: 2014: CBeebies Land

Not sold on Charlie and Lola but the rest looks really good, i like the clock towers and Tree Fu Tom is amazing considering the rubbish that was there before!

Re: 2014: CBeebies Land

It's marginally better than what I was expecting.

I have no idea what they spent £8 million on though. The mind boggles.

Re: 2014: CBeebies Land

All Towers budget quotes include marketing and IP costs. Suppose also you are not seeing the whole area there and Pat is a new ride system
.

Is PPPP a completely new layout?

Same layout, they've kept the concrete path that it runs along. It's just the ride system that is new.

:)

Re: 2014: CBeebies Land

I just really hope that the groundwork on PPPP doesn't suffer from the same affliction that The Smiler does. I've heard that "Pat 5" is already a rough ride - ridiculous if so and will only get worse as the years go on.

In all seriousness though - the rest of the area looks great fun and I look forward to taking a walk round. I feel its a great improvement on what was looking like a very tired area of the park.

Re: 2014: CBeebies Land

It looks good, if not a bit two-dimensional both where it should and shouldn't be, although I still don't think the capacity is there. Given the huge promotional push this is getting, I think it's going to suffer over the summer.
