Definitely need to prioritise a thrill flat for next year though, given the lack of them in...well...the Merlin era.

I meant a proper restaurant, with cooked meals. Sandwiches and a drink are not that!

Spinball is more disposable than you think, too.

I don't think CBeebies Land needs another eat-in restaurant with the new Towers St. Bar & Grill literally just around the corner. As for Sonic Spinball, it may be 'more disposable' but it is still one of the Parks main and most popular attractions. I can't see it going anywhere anytime soon.

Parents won't be saying that on busy days when they are forced to leave the area to head of to Towers St. Bar & Grill only to have to queue to get back into CBeebies Land. Saying that I think what's there is just about ok for now, they could do with a small kiosk type place in Big Fun Show Time though.

As for Sonic, it may be popular but it will be the next coaster to leave the park. Towers have pretty much said as much and the council would like to see this also. They will remove it in the near future and that area of the park will lose its GDO status.

:)
I agree with Rob, Sonic will be the next coaster to leave probably with it being off the shelf and loud, however the new restaurant probably won't happen and if sonic doesn't leave I would like it relocated to cloud cuckoo land although it might not happen due to the close proximity to the locals.Either way it would be an good idea to demolish everything in adventure land and rebuild it from scratch with 3 cbeebies land attractions including a rollercoaster like troublesome trucks with a longer layout where you sit in bugs and a indoor attraction possibly a mr maker workshop. It would be great if there was another playground as tree fu tom can get quite busy and maybe a little railway going around the whole perimeter themed to chugginton with rides in three of the trains and junctions with animatronic trains along with some of the stations and lots of things to spot like the quarry.

I doubt it will lose the GDO completely but the height limit will be dropped and a few other restrictions added, Spinball is probably the most annoying coaster in the park for locals due to its proximity to Farley.

Indeed my mistake, they will suggest modifed permitted development rights for where Sonic is which will probably be the same as they have in Forbidden Valley at present. Towers are also hoping for some new GDO areas (entrance plaza, what is now CBeebies Land and Katanga Canyon) at the same time.

:)

I would love to see a whole enclosed area to take the place of adventureland when spinball goes. Either expand Cbeebies Land or give it a new non IP theme. I'm thinking something along the lines of mayaland (Plopsaland) and Mermaid Lagoon (Disney Sea) with family/junior rides and some kind of junior roller coaster circling above and around the entire building.

^thats quite a good idea!could have a junior coaster, family coaster and a thrill flat and a couple of family flats. Family coaster in the perimeter with a few bunny hills like an Xl go gater with some different elements like a small inversion for the family coaster. Put the frog hopper in there along with a disko which would take up half of adventure land if it had an out and back queue with 2 lines. Then have a smaller version of a young star so 2-6 year olds could ride which comes out the side of the building, like crush's coaster, then have a flat on the scale of enterprise and ripsaw, this would make it like a mini indoor area but have it like cbeebies land where only a certain number are allowed in. It would be junior family and thrills. I don't know if it would fit though it would be perfect for rainy days

Sonic won't be relocated, it'd be too costly given its supports are concreted rather than bolted into the ground. Also, it's too loud as it is, let alone moving it closer to the village!

As much as sonic is a off the shelf it is quite good,I don't want it to be scrapped, but it won't be relocated on park, hopefully it will be sold on because thorpe won't get it as dragons fury is up the road at chessie.

I think 2016 will see something new at the flume site or Katanga canyon, Alton replied to a comment on trip adviser which stated that the flume was a little dated and Alton replied they are looking at these sites for development and hope you will see a change an your next visit!

Do you have a link, sounds interesting.

Thanks, looks like it could be either a water coaster or the Katanga canyon stand up.mwater coaster if the flume goes.

Duel --> Dr Who: The Ride

Screamscape are saying there is a WILD rumour of Doctor Who going into Thorpe Park.

Although I think it would suit Towers better, Thorpe is more in need of a dark ride.

If the did put it into Duel I expect it would be completly gutted and a whole new concept.

If anything happens to Duel it will probably involve keeping the ride system as it's so unique and still damn clever.

Having said that, I wouldn't want to see the haunted house type theme removed as it suits the area so nicely.

It would be an interesting move for Thorpe though - they desperately need a dark ride and I'm sure ones been rumoured.

If Doctor Who was to replace Duel, surely the obvious way to go would be to keep the facade the same and use the Weeping Angels as a way into the ride's narrative. #justsayin' ;)
