Good, Cheapish Place To Stay?

Hello,

I've been to towers a few times this year and before the summer season fully gets going i'd like to spend like 3 or so days on the park, is there any nearby hotels you could suggest for me and a friend :)

It's not super cheap but the chained oak B&B is very nice http://www.chainedoak.com/ with a great breakfast
Can walk to the theme park saving on parking and you can walk into the woods and see the actual chained oak.

I second this place. We stayed very recently and it was great walking to the park across the fields and then through the staff car park. Saves on parking and quicker than parking and then monorail. The owner is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is great, in a lovely room with great views and as jon says the chained oak tree is worth going to see. It's much more of a bargain than AT Hotel or SL but because of the proximity you could send the evening at AT or SL and then walk back. Alternatively you could order a takeaway while at the Chained Oak. The owner provides plates and cutlery for you to do this and then lets you leave it for the dishwasher.

WHAT! They let you use their own plates and dishwasher, even though you've ordered from another place!!! Although I suppose it is a BED and BREAKFAST. :p But still!
 
Yep! They have menus for all the local delivery places left out. If you tell them that is what you are doing then then they will leave plates and cutlery out for you in the breakfast room. You can either eat in there or at one of the outdoor tables. Then you leave the plates and cutlery to be washed. Really enjoyed my stay there.
 
If I lived further away from Towers and didn't go often, I would definitely consider this B&B! It's easy to do a trip to and from Towers (or twice if my dad drops me off and picks me up again) in a day, as I'm only an hour away.
 
Another vote for the Chained Oak, it is a truly lovely B&B, and once the noise from the park stops you really wouldn't know it was there. Plus the walk through the field to the park gives some very tantalising views of Oblivions drop. Not super cheap but worth every single penny.
 
Even though I've never stayed in the Chained Oak, after park close on Saturday, our group pulled into the B&B to ask for directions to the real old oak tree. The woman who I assume was one of the owners came out the building enthusiastically, but she thought we were guests she was waiting for! She did point us in the right direction though, and seems a very lovely lady!

Edit: Also, if you've never been to the old chained oak tree, it is WELL worth a visit. Literally a 5 minute walk from the drive to the B&B, and you can pull into the layby opposite the walkway!
