2014: Arthur in the Minimoys kingdom

Europa - Park have extended the Winter Season by 1 week.

The park is now open daily from 22nd November 2014 until 11th January 2015 between 11 am and a minimum of 7pm.

Has anyone here ever done Europa during winter season? Do they ever open the big coasters? Someone told me they did open if temperatures were high enough, but I do not know if this is true. What is the park like generally, other than the bow on Eurosat?

The park is absolutely stunning over Christmas. More Christmas trees across the park than you can ever imagine, Eurosat dressed up as you've mentioned, lights and bits of theming everywhere. There's a Christmas market down the main entrance and generally it's just a gorgeous park to be in. They will open a coaster if it's warm enough, Blue Fire was the choice last year :).

The closed attractions are as follows:

- Wodan
- Silver Star
- Poseidon
- Atlantica Super Splash
- Fjord Rafting
- Tirol Log Flume

Everything else is open, plus they add in some rides (such as the Belle Vue Wheel and Snow Tubing track) just for winter. Arthur will also be available.

:)

I've still not watched a POV but I keep seeing positive reviews of Arthur in various different places which is encouraging. Someone spoke to Roland after riding it and he apparently said that they intend to add quite a bit more theming, particularly to some of the walls that are currently blank. Certainly sounds like it is going to keep evolving over time.

:)

Same here Rob, not seen any POV, but looking forward to riding this. Going to be fun getting a chance to ride it in the Dark. I have a feeling the outside section could be interesting at night time :)

Looks brilliant. A few of the links don't seem to work properly, but these are probably just teething issues that'll be ironed out relatively soon.

It is a much nicer site, glad they finally brightened it up and moved away from the dark blue. It shows off the hotel rooms really well too compared to the old site. They seem to be having massive issues with the CMS though, with things being inaccessible for long periods. Give them a day or two and hopefully it'll be sorted :).

I always click with trepidation when a park launches a new website, as it really is the face of the company.

However, thankfully - I like it. I remember when the current site was launched and I preferred the old one - but this time, I prefer the new one.

The events page is certainly 'copious':

Meanwhile on Towers' event page, a tumbleweed blows by...

I was wondering when they would launch the new website though as they did preview it in the "look at all our new stuff for 2014" video. There are clearly some technical issues at the moment that need ironing out but overall it looks fantastic and works really well.

:)

The online shop is still in the old-fashioned way :/

I should think it'll be changed in due course, it's a different domain.

RE: Arthur - I have watched a number of POV's over the past 2 weeks and there are quite a number of changes and new additional pieces of theming on the ride which weren't there when it first opened. Good news.

They certainly like getting their European costumes and attractive ladies onto the website don't they!

"After Park Lounge" looks a little suspicious!

Darn those liberal Europeans!!

The advent of the new website has also given prominence to some previously unknown new F&B outlets in the hotel resort and theme park!

In the park...
Fashion World Lounge, located above the new Camp David store, serves cocktails and cool drinks!

In the hotel resort...
Pizzeria Romantica, located on the terrace at Piazza Roma in Hotel Colosseo, serves pizzas in an outdoor environment with table service.

Kaigan Sushi and Wok, located on the terrace at Hotel Bell Rock, serves Asian specialities in a fine environment.

That's the one I pictured several weeks back :)
