How Busy?

I know it's miles away (looking at booking hotel room under 50% off), but any thoughts for September 4-5th (Thu-Fri)? As far as I'm aware, term starts on September 1st (Mon) this year but I wonder if some schools may be different and it could be surprisingly busy?

Really? I'd have thought if the 1st was a Monday the first day would've been the 7th. The 1st seems too early.

I thought that as well, but looking online it appears to be right. It does sound early.

Anyone been on park today? Going tomorrow, I know its National Science Week and some schools may be on park. Can't see it being too busy but wondering what queues were like today.

I'm thinking of going to AT on Monday (7th April). I've been looking at various council websites for school holidays and can't figure out how busy the park is likely to be. Some are off some are not. Any ideas what the park is likely to be like?

Thanks

i would like to go,to,Alton, towers in may kids are not,on,holiday so what weeks would people recommend

Well the end of May (24th) is when CBeebies Land opens so I imagine that weekend will be very busy, along with the weeks after it. However before then I don't think it should be too busy.

Me and my friends are going on the 22nd and 23rd of May (staying over) and was wondering how busy (or quiet) the park tends to be the day before a big opening such as cbeebies land or when the smiler opened for example?

I presume that cause it is during school time and in the middle of the week it'll be pretty quiet?

I imagine the 22nd should be fairly quiet with it being a Thursday, the Friday may be a bit busier with it being nearer to the weekend (and bank holiday weekend), but hopefully not too bad, most families will be waiting for CBeebies Land to open.

Having visited on Bank Holidays before (and expected the park to be heaving) they have actually been relatively quiet. There's a lot of families holding off at the moment due to Cbeebies land so I have a quiet hope it wont be too bad.

I'm visiting Sunday as well, so any further advice would be appreciated!

I visited last Sunday and expected it to be busy (last week of Easter holiday for some schools and nice weather) but it was far less busy than I expected. The Smiler queue was 20 minutes at one point and most other rides were between 5 and 30 minutes throughout the day. Not sure how the Bank Holiday will affect the crowds this weekend but my gut feeling is that it won't be too busy. As was mentioned in an earlier post, I think a lot of families are waiting for CBeebies land to open... The next half term holiday will be packed I suspect!

I was cheating the queues a little by using SRQ as much as possible, but I got 22 rides in last Sunday (including 8 rides on The Smiler :twirly: ) and I didn't stay until closing time. Make the most of it over the next month!!

I visited last Saturday and got 19 rides done, that included not starting until at least 10:20 due to MAP faff.

Anybody have any idea how busy it would be this weekend on Sunday?

Shouldn't be too bad, a bit busier than the past few weekends but everyone will be waiting for CBoobies :)

Ok thanks

Will depend a bit on the weather, but I can't see it being too busy as CBeebies Land opens the day after, but probably busier than the rest of the week due to people who may be staying over Friday night, or finishing school that day for half term.

I'm planning a trip next Thursday too. Probably 2-3 hours for The Smiler, over an hour for Rita and everything else on 40 minutes plus.
