Ripsaw to move to X Sector?

Thing with any Towers rumour though is you don't trust it until Astro starts sounding VERY confident. These things are often genuine plans but it doesn't mean it is definitely happening. I think everyone is now aware Towers don't exactly do planning to any degree of success and things chop and change.

A good example of that was Shrek, it was a definite plan, it was going to happen, last minute it got cut.

And it's true for all the Merlin parks. I've heard many rumours over the last 2 years which I've fully believed the people who have told me them. But then communication seems to break down, another idea is considered and in the end the only ideas that go through appears to be the last minute ones when the people with the budget realise there's no time to come up with another one.

Such a bad way to do business and results in mishaps like The Smiler which given a little more planning could have been so much more, even costing less.

Just to point out, ripsaw refresh cafe is open and hasn't been gutted as was suggested in the screamscape article.

Make of that what you will

@Panda said that a staff member said to her on Towers Street yesterday that Ripsaw will be moving to X-Sector, but surely we can't trust that.

Seems to be gaining some momentum this rumour. Given it's not beyond possibility and actually does seem logical I wouldn't be surprised. I really hope the fountains go with it, but as John pointed out the other day, if that does happen, there's the Smiler games stall in the way of the view so they'd surely need to move that as well?

I hear Ripsaw was being moved to the back of the hotel as entertainment for the enchanted village. I hear it from my mate 3rd cousin, whos brother in law brother in law hear it of a cleaner in staffordshire who was talking to a temp cleaner who cleans the mud off the roads around Alton village, so it must be true ;):laughing:

Sorry could not resist

The Smiler game stall wouldn't be in the way. They'd definitely have to clear the hedges that used to be in front of Submission, but other than that I think it would be fine. I reckon it's possible tbh.

Not technically or practically they wouldn't but aesthetically it would to ensure you got the full impact in X-Sector.

That bit of ground needs to be unobstructed.

If you think about standing just a little further up, with Oblivion to your left, The Smiler to your right, and ripsaw straight on, that's a pretty impressive and intimidating section of rides, with Enterprise probably still spinning away. And during late night openings, with some good lighting in that area, I think it could quite spectacular.

I still find them visually very impressive

If it did happen, it would be disappointing to lose the Submission Memorial Garden after only one year! :(

I don't think its going to happen. You would need a new pond and pump house.

Not going to have jets? Then the ride would have to be all about the inversions, but the only decent programme is 4 and its too short.

Also the brakes squeal and putting it closer to our lovely noise hating local duo would be a bad move.

The ride is past it and moving it would probably cause more damage. Let's not forget the balls up of energizer when it was there!

Is Ripsaw known for making a concerning grinding noise/squeal? Cause it was happening a lot last week, to the point where I could hear it loud and clear in the Air queue!

I think the idea has to be done right if they do and the them of it has to be exact. I overheard the conversation where the employee said it would move. I didn't believe the sauce as much as I would have liked.

I know of at least 6 members of staff that are semi-active members on here, no idea how many just read the forums to get an idea of how best to troll enthusiasts! :p

Some staff just come across these things online and then 'confirm' it to anyone who talks to them about it in park. Sometimes trolling, sometimes reading an online rumour and taking it literally. :p

I was watching Ripsaw while on the meet at the weekend and it'd be a pretty daft move to put such a noise generator in close proximity to Those We Do Not Speak Of. The grinding of the brakes, the screaming of the guests, the whirring of the motors.. nope. Can't see it myself!

@Sazzle that's the most comprehensive reason I have seen for it not to be moved.

Are they still there though? I thought I'd read somewhere that they'd moved?
