Shockwave won't be the only stand up in Europe from next year...

SkyRider from Canada's Wonderland is heading to Italy for 2015! That's right, somebody, somewhere thought that buying a second hand Togo stand up coaster was a good idea!

Looking at their current ride line up though, you can almost understand. Apart from a Big Apple they have 3 coasters created by the stellar Italian manufacturer L&T Systems...

If all this madness wasn't good enough - there is the worlds worst promotional image to go with it:

Amazing.

@DiogoJ42 it looks like they heard your "disappointment" in not getting to ride this, and rather than being demolished they're actually shipping it closer for your enjoyment :p.

I'm perplexed by this to say the least. Of all the coasters you could get, you buy a second hand Togo standup?! They could've gone for Knightmare or something instead of that hunk of junk!

Purchase and import of such items should be prohibited under EU law!

I didn't think parks even wanted the B&M and Intamin ones anymore, let alone the Togo Japcrap!

This thread will get great usage over the next season as we use it to discuss the inevitable incidents and injuries caused by a 30 year old Togo that has had to withstand dismantling and travelling halfway across the world...

Can I just say looking at the promo image again, they're clearly investing a lot of money, if they're installing glass handrails...

Just wait till a brit injures themself on it, imagine the tabloid headlines "Man injured on Roller Coaster of Death"

Are RMC now pretty much the only coaster manufacturer who have never had a coaster in Europe?

What about Golden Horse or Hebei Zhongye Metallurgical Equipment Manufacturing Co., Ltd? ;)

At least RMC will be over here in 2016 at Kolmarden!

So how are DMP going to market Shockwave when it is no longer Europe's only stand up coaster?

Isn't it still marketed as the World's only Zero-G stand up? Guessing they'll just push that a bit more.

Edit
Snap ;)

Still the only stand-up in the UK too and still the tallest in Europe? :p

Saw this whilst away in Germany, wow! Pretty sure it's going to fall down as soon as they try and rebuild it. Least it gives people an excuse to go and ride one, they are a must do! :p

:)
