TST Fireworks Meet 2014: Sunday, 9th November

I'm picking a @Panda up from Uttox at about 9, so could swing by Stoke on my way there, or pick up from Uttox - whichever would be best for you.

Scrap my last comment starting work Tuesday now so will be there all day tomorrow

It's been a pleasant end to the season, no questions asked.

Highlights:

  • The questionable fact that Roland Mack is from Stoke.
  • The incredible performance from Thirteen and its staff on Saturday night.
  • The devious joy of capturing plenty of hilarious photos involving a wide spectrum of members pulling unflattering facial expressions.
  • The added effects to the firework display this year.
  • The illuminated Towers.
  • Having a somewhat crazy Sunday night despite only just bordering on tipsy.
  • Getting the chance to see The Smiler bedroom in the flesh.
  • Fart bombing the corridor in Splash.
  • Witnessing the first delivery of the lodges.
  • Killing time waiting for the fireworks display on the NumTums.
Lowlights:

  • The removal of the Vane's soul.
  • No memorable music in the fireworks display.
  • The story somewhat lacking in the fireworks display.
  • The Smiler dropping straight out of my top ten.
  • The "special" (awfully limited) menu.
A more than fabulous way to end the season courtesy of everyone's company. See you all again soon!

Still recovering from a lurgy, my weekend was a bit blurred (and the fact I spent most of Sunday tipsy). That said it was a good weekend and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Highs
  • Hanging out with the group. A great bunch of friends.
  • The chilled out atmosphere within the group.
  • Meeting Pierre and his friends.
  • The park actually looked very pretty with decent lighting.
  • Nemesis was on top form on Sunday night.
  • The Smiler seemed much smoother.
  • Of course staying in The Smiler room was an highlight.
  • Drinks in Margs
  • Fireworks in general were very good.
Lows

  • The rain! Nothing the park could do but Saturday was mainly a wet day. Sunday was much better.
  • Extortionate prices at some food outlets.
  • Very limited menus elsewhere and some outlets running out of food.
  • Cold burger from the courtyard.
  • Fireworks seemed a bit dull towards the start of the show.
  • A few things broken on arrival at our hotel room.
  • People having to leave Sunday night.
  • Being charged for a latte in corner coffee, only to be told afterwards that they couldn't make lattes due to not having enough milk so it probably was just a normal coffee, but twice the price.

I only met up with Ian for about 1 hour but that one hour was very interesting, finding out how easy it is for Duel to breakdown and almost getting it broken, also going from FV back to TS via the normally closed path made a nice change.
