Efteling: General Discussion

I know it's only short, but seems like it's flying up, great to see.

I've never been to Efteling but this looks like it fits in really well with the overall feel of the place, while opening it up to a wider market, a really great project for them and it should be a massive success.

It's only the wrong way because your mind naturally expects you to keep banking in the same direction. However a roller coaster by its very nature uses unexpected forces to create thrilsl. You'll probably find B&M tested the element both ways and found the unnatural forces to be more pleasing.

Excellent! Clearly a long way off but I get the feeling a Wing Coaster may appeal to them.

:)

I'm already getting goosebumps at the thought of two highly themed B&M coasters sitting in the same park on such a scale.

I would guess a wing coaster or a Flyer, a Flyer is noticeably absent from this side of Mainland Europe.

Beyond wondering where Efteling could fit another B&M (without removing something obviously), I would say a Flyer would be the most likely option for them, what with the WingRider requiring a much larger footprint...

Also, points for the article mentioning Hartenhof...

It seemed weird enough for Efteling to announce their first thrill B&M, nevermind a second. Let's be honest - it would be odd for them to build another big thrill B&M, given their anxiety about thrill coasters.

If it is a B&M, I think it's much more likely that they'll get one of these. It fills a bit of a gap in their coaster line-up, something the level below Joris, DVH and Vogel in terms of intensity. Come to think of it, just like EP, they're also crying out for an Octonauts-size coaster.

^ But why would they go for one of them when Vekoma basically offer the exact same ride, for presumably a much lower price? They already have a few Vekoma rides too, so they already have a relationship with them.

I would imagine a Flyer along the lines of Air would be well suited to Efteling.

Is this still on the cards?

I seem to remember this was from Efteling even though it ended up in the Heide Park 2014 topic.

It looks fabulous! My only problem with this ride is the direction of the zero g. If it were in the opposite direction it would let the layout flow so much better, as it would be twisting away from the diveloop (or immelmen or whatevers) exit and in the right direction for the helix, which it isn't.
Other then that this ride is flawless. Literally floorless.

If the ride hosts aren't wearing standard issue steampunk goggles, I shall be very dissapointed.
