The I Feel Down Topic.

WOW, ok so my last reply to this thread, as I don't want to turn it into a different topic.
The universe and life does not have to revolve around finding someone to share your life with.
Life can go on and be just as fulfilling and rewarding being single and happy.
We are brought up with the notion that we MUST find someone to love, we MUST find someone special.
Well life isn't always that simple or easy. Sharing a life with someone doesn't always equate to happiness.

Nobody said that it does, people are responding to you saying that the ONLY way to be is single. Everybody makes different choices and their lives go down different paths - some alone, some with partners, some with friends. There is not one way to be, there is YOUR way to be. It is no one else's job to judge anyone on or for their relationship status, whatever that may be.

No, people are responding because I gave a , what I thought, helpful opinion on how to look at it, be single, no regrets, and I get shot down, called a not very nice person, disgusting and I should grow up.

I guess this from young people with no life experience, I shouldn't expect any more.

Probably not welcome around here anymore,

Haha...I'm 35 with plenty of life experience, believe me! But I'll take young...thanks

You're welcome here but just need to prepare yourself for people who disagree with your opinions the amount of people who dislike my opinions is beyond belief

Never outright called you that but you seem to take the assumption. If you actually use people for your own advantage then yeah, you're disgusting. :) Don't have to be 'old' to see that.

As someone who has had to deal with the consequences of someone being used in a relationship it's not good advice. I'd like to see if your advice remained the same if it happened to you or someone you care about. But guess at the age of 20 I don't have enough life experience...

The mother has just been taken into hospital to investigate chest pains, worried about her. :(

Makes me a little bit more sad because it's my birthday tomorrow and it just seems whenever something positive comes around something really negative comes along to mess you up too. I hope that doesn't sound selfish, just a kind of a spiral of negative thoughts after today, probably fueled by massive stress and anxiety due to the looming exams too.

Hope she's ok and gets well soon

It is a positive that you mum's chest pains are being checked out and end up being treated. I hope it's little problem that is easily sorted

If it makes you feel a bit better Jen, my mum was suffering from chest pains and was at the hospital in the Summer. Thankfully she's okay now and it turned out not to be a big issue.

Hope your mum is okay.

You don't sound selfish. I was in a very similar situation a few months ago. I was at the very worst point of my anxiety and depression, and my mum was taken into hospital with chest pains too. Although I was really worried about my mum, part of my thought process was "this is the straw that broke the camel's back" kind of thing. I think it's just inevitable when you are finding things really tough anyway. It doesn't mean you care any less about your mum. My mum's chest pains turned out to be nothing serious at all and she is completely fine, I hope it's similar for your mum.

Hope you had a good birthday :)

I accidentally clicked on an old photo of Thumper for the first time in months since his death and I just burst into tears. I miss him so much.

Back in 1996, my grandparents got a kitten on their farm, and called her Marmalade. For a couple of months, she hasn't been doing very well, eating less and only really consuming liquid, whilst also finding it harder to move around. Well, last night (Thursday), she apparently took a turn for the worse, and in the morning, my Gran took her to the vets to be put to sleep. I'm actually more upset about this than I am about the election, which feels weird. I've never had pets of my own, and for the past nineteen years or so, Marmalade has been the closest thing to a pet of my own that I've ever had. She was a lovely cat, and I'm still mightily impressed that she lived to the age of 19. I'm going to miss her, and I know that my grandparents will miss having a cat around as well. :(

19 years is a really good age for a cat.

Its sad when that happens. But it sounds like she had nice owners. Cat are lovely prts because they do show a lot of affection and are great to have around.

I don't want to think about the fact our cat is now 10 years old.
