Incredibly, according to PBE, a new train has appeared in the Nash station - same model as the other ones. Not really sure why they'd buy another, but it is a good omen for them trying to get the ride on four train operations more often.

Nash was running 4 trains yesterday and from what I could see (I was in the train racing it :) ) the maroon colour train is the same as the old purple one but with different side panels. The interior wood looks like the old purple colour :)

Blackpool have today announced a new benefit of their season pass. Platinum pass holders now get 1 day free at PortAventura and Isla Magica, with pass holders of the Spanish parks also getting a free day at BPB..

Both of these parks already have an agreement with a number of other European parks, whereby annual pass holders at any of the parks get 1 free entry at all other parks (the other participants being Europa Park, Liseberg, Phantasialand and Efteling), so could Blackpool be in negotiation with these parks too? A lot of TST members would certainly benefit from a free day at BPB with an EP annual pass!

After @John's post I looked into the Isla Magica pass and it's a fantastic deal! For €89 (About £65) You get free access to:

Isla Magica
Terra Mitica
Tibidabo
Tripsdrill
Phantasialand
Europa Park
Efteling
Liseberg
Blackpool Pleasure Beach
Bagatelle
Various aquariums, waterparks and small parks
And most importantly... PLEASUREWOOD HILLS!

There's also a 35% discount for Port Aventura.

Hopefully you can buy one without having to go all the way to Isla Magica to pick it up. It's much better than the Port Aventura offer which only offers a 35% discount on other Spanish parks and lets you into just 4 international parks for free. Plus passes start from €156.

Not really BPPB related but I was taken aback by how good the offer is. If you're visiting just a few of those parks a year or planning a big trip, it's more than worth it.

The Sky Force ride has started to arrive at BPB:

Blackpool Pleasure Beach have released a video of SkyForce testing. Strange decision to post a video with no-one in the ride cars, as such the general reaction on their Facebook is it looks boring!

Well if they post that video... what do they expect? They are boring. Unless you are constantly spinning. But at the same time, I don't even like constantly spinning.

:)

Mandy tweeted that she was a bit miffed they tested it with engineers without her :p

BPB have revised their staggered openings, meaning that everything apart from Grand National and Valhalla is open at 10:30am (they both open at 11am), with a few rides and Nick Land open at 10am.
Given how bad things were before, this is a massive step up from the previous setup which saw very little open until 11am, and then some things not open until 11:30am or 12 noon (Grand Prix) so well done to them for finally making an effort with this, it's still not perfect but definitely an improvement.

Six hours at a weekend is poor, but given how few guests BPB get on off-peak days it wouldn't really make much sense to open much longer. If almost every ride is running half empty even on low capacity then minimal opening times are justified, though during WOW weekends the hours were too short.

Good news on the staggered openings, just a shame that Nash still opens so late.

I agree that this is really good to see. Now hopefully they'll consider getting rid of those awful 11:00-5:00 days especially at weekends.
Yeah, I agree that on weekends it is unacceptable, however on midweek days sometimes the staff outnumber guests so opening any longer on those days would be a bad decision.

I'm glad the late openings had pretty much gone. Was a bit of a joke when we went earlier in the year, we walked around the whole park and back to where we started to find a open ride.

So does this mean pleasure beach has better hours than towers at some times now?

No footage of the ride is probably a good idea. Would only demonstrate how slow and boring it is.

That video is totally misleading and makes the ride seem much better than it actually is! :p

Now, now folks, let's remember we've only seen it on testing mode. "It'll go much faster when it opens properly" ;)
