Universal Orlando (Studios/IOA/Epic Universe) : General Discussion

Had I not re-visited in 2013 I would have been quite put out at the above news. However - and it pains me to say it - twister felt tired and out of date. The experience is still great - the entire staging brilliant - but the movie was a bit of an unknown to the younger people in there.

I'm not a fan of the fast and furious franchise but if its an update (and makes Return of the Mummy quieter) then I'm all for it!

I'm not sure if this will require extended downtime, or if this is something that can just be done one at a time, leaving the attraction open, but a construction permit for the Incredible Hulk coaster was submitted by Universal Orlando to "Remove and Replace" the coaster’s launch motors.

This had better not mean downtime in September!

:)

Thanks for that link. Damn, I was rather looking forward to riding it again considering my memories of it have faded quite considerably.

:)

These permits usually take a little while to get approved. I wouldn't expect any movement for a couple of months

Phew, I was panicking reading this thread - I'm there next Monday & Tuesday and have massive love for Hulk.

Universal have confirmed a major 9 month closure of Hulk:

We want to let you know that The Incredible Hulk Coaster will be getting some great, new enhancements to its storyline, ride vehicles and overall experience.

That work means we’ll have to close the attraction beginning Sept. 8. It will roar back to life next summer and we’ll keep you posted on the details. In the meantime, be sure to check out the other great, thrilling, experiences at Universal’s Islands of Adventure, including Dr. Doom’s FearFall, Dragon Challenge, Jurassic Park River Adventure and more.

I’ve been lucky enough to get a sneak peek at plans for The Incredible Hulk Coaster, and I can tell you the overall experience is going to feel more immersive and high-tech. But don’t worry—the attraction will still have the same “Incredible” personality that makes it one of America’s most popular coasters.

We’ll be sharing cool new updates over time, so be sure to subscribe to the blog on the sidebar or sign up here to get emails on all Universal Orlando news.

Sounds good but it's closing the day I fly out to Orlando! Universal - I hate you!!!

:)

Further reasoning for my preaching of advising people this is not the year to visit Orlando :p

Which is why thus far, it seems 2017 is the ideal year to visit.
