Songs that make you think about AT and why?!

Driving along earlier listening to heart FM when we built this city by starship came on... Reminds me of happy times stood in the queue for Rita before area was rethemed to the dark forest.

I always find that Moldova's entry for the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest makes me think of Alton Towers, for obvious reasons I suppose.

The Music from the Game Sonic Spinball reminds me of the ride with the same name.

The Superman theme reminds me of Air, for obvious reasons

:)

Hella Good by No Doubt

I remember we came out of Hex and we were walking towards what was Ug Land at the time and in the open space near what is the Woodcutters now, my brother started rampantly dancing to this song :) I don't even know why it was being played but it was and to this day it still remind me of good old AT :D

Where angles play by the stone roses somehow It reminds me every time I hear it don't know why

When I hear ITHOTMK on any advert, at any party, on any video, in any place, Alton Towers memories flood into my head. :)

Cupid's Chokehold by Gym Class Heroes. This wasn't my decision.

Also, a lot of the songs used for the firework display will forever take me back.

If we're talking about firework memories... Bonds Explosive from the 2004 display I believe was one of my all time favourites :)

Needless to say ITHOTMK always makes me think of Towers, and it is always so weird when it is used on other TV adverts, it just seem wrong!

Dog Days are Over by Florence and the Machine also reminds me of Towers. It was playing a few times in the car when Russell was giving me some lifts to Towers back in 2010 and ever since then it just reminds me of driving to Towers!

:)

Dead or Alive - You Spin Me Right Round

Many, many hilarious times spent in the Rita queue dancing away to this :D

Duck Sauce - Barbra Streisand
Replace Streisand with the surname of one of the greatest coaster designers ever, and you'll understand. :p

Nero - Me And You
Standing at the bottom of Towers Street on that cold Sunday night back in November watching the fireworks. Such an amazing show, and one of the best times I've ever spent at Towers - if not the best. :D

The dirty Yogi Bear song
I listened to this thanks to a friend when we were on a bus in the early hours of the morning in June 2007 on our way to Towers. Don't even ask. :p
(Note: Contains explicit lyrics.)

Sean Kingston - Beautiful Girls. Pretty crap song (IMO), but it was playing on the radio when my car pulled into the park gates on my first visit in 2007, so it sort of stuck, and whenever I hear it, It takes me back to my first visit. ;)

I don't get it? :(

Alton Towers by The Fall.

Why? Because err, it's got the words "Alton Towers" in the title... :)

My story is October 25th 2002: I was 17 and on a college trip to Alton to do coursework for both A level Maths (Statisics & Mechanics) and A level physics. On the coach ride from Southampton (Long Long drive) I had just bought a new cd (Ministry of sound: Addicted to Trance) In my defence of this I was confused boy (Oii not like that [-X ) just musically (Blues and Rock are my thing).. I sat next to Calie Whittaker and we listened to 2 tracks on repeat there and back, Ralphie Boy - Massive and The Spacelovers - Spacelove.

Both very atmospheric and set a tone as we went past the JCB arm scoop sculpture which was eerie. It was a typical October day misty, foggy, light rain which was gone by 12 and the sun came out..

Ralphie B : (eerie and industrial give it a chance as the sun rises over a foggy alton)

Spacelovers : (more upbeat fun magic, you might here this on some cheesey coaster video)

Anyway afterwards I was hooked got home and listened to the Hex & Nemesis theme for ages and started looking at the websites.

Just found an old going to Alton CD I made and I forgot about a DIO track from the Movie Iron Eagle that we listened to as well , which we only found cool because we saw lots of rainbows that day and the fact the lyrics have "magic carpet ride" .. Dio - Hide in the rainbow . Genre: Metal,

Dina Carol Don't be a Stranger 1992 coming down the steep hill out of Alton Village on Tape we kept rewinding it all the way that day.

Boom Boom Pow by The Black Eyed Peas, It was the first song I heard in the Rita queue line. I had it in my head for the whole day!

Baba "o" Riley by The Who, Whilst I was on the way back to Alton Towers for the second time, My dad put this on and my entire family who were as excited as I was, joined in for one big sing song! EPIC!

In quite a spooky way Sunset (Bird of Prey) by Fatboy Slim followed us around our Alton visits for many years. When it was new in 2000 there was nothing odd about hearing it on the way as it was on the radio a lot anyway, but it came on the radio every time we went for years. It became a running joke and scarily was still happening in about 2007/2008 by when it was really quite rare to hear it, but radio 1 would play it every time we were heading up the M1.

The song itself reminds me of Enterprise, with its graceful peacefulness. I like riding it with my eyes shut, my arms out the sides and this song in my head.

We have managed a few visits without hearing it now!
