Just noticed that myself. What gets me is that everything else is 15 minutes or less, including all of the thrill rides being 10 or less. Maybe they accidentally put a 0 on the end.

Worked out that it would be 1:30 by the time you got out that queue

Every ride except in CBeebies Land was pretty much walk on yesterday. The schools round my way broke up on Wednesday so it's definitely the holidays. Is that normal for the first day of Summer; I was expecting it to be mega busy.

Sorry, can't screenshot. But sonic spinball is a 12 minute queue. Don't they normally go up in 5.

Everything else is 0 apart from mine train and Mr bloom 's.

The first two weeks of summer are usually not "busy" but the park is a lot quieter than it would usually be. But i think that will be the case for quite some time.

I was talking to someone on turnstyles earlier and they just said someone was having a muck about with the queue times! :p

It's a shame that it's quieter than normal. One thing I really liked yesterday was that the entertainment was top notch. The Pirates shows were excellent and the kids shows were great fun. What really made it though was the street entertainment, CBeebies always had a character to meet or interact with and the circus skills crew were great, really fantastic with my 4 year old who wanted to try the Diablo and plate spinning. I must say I was more than impressed with what was on offer.

I do think that the street entertainment is amazing and is lacking at most theme parks. Although, it is better on quiet days. How long do you think the short queues will last? Usually it's only the first 2 weeks of the holidays.

I reckon queues will pick up again within the next week or two, but they'll probably be shorter than what we'd normally expect them to be at this time of year.

To put the lack of attendance into context, today saw around 4,000 guests - a very small day.

So as part of their Towers Tastic marketing campaign the park have 'produced' this video:

I'm no media expert and will never pretend to be, but surely a good video has to have sound? I mean come on!

The re-hash of stock footage, some extremely old, shows how little budget they have for these campaigns which is a shame. You see many parks around the world making their own videos on a relatively regular basis, filming their own footage. Alton Towers are way behind when it comes to this.

:)

Jeez, that Blade footage must be 15 years old! How have they not got more up to date video?

It's astonishing that people have lost faith. When I told some work colleagues that I was going to Alton Towers they were surprised and said things like "are you sure", "so soon?" "After all the incidents they've had recently?". I had to correct him on the last one; he's a Mail reader quite obviously.

But it a shame that people think there's something wrong there that it would put them off going. Nice for the likes of us who can enjoy a quieter day. How long before people regain confidence in Alton Towers? It's a question that can't be answered I'm afraid.

To me it's like when there's a plane crash; people get nervous about getting on a plane but that's the best time to get on a plane; they happen do rarely it's very unlikely to happen so shortly after and in AT's case an incident of the scale is unlikely to happen ever again.

Did you figure this out by the fact that at 17 seconds, in the Background, ripsaw still has the saws on the end. I suppose though, it's only us who notice this. I have shown the video to people in my family and they think they filmed it recently.

A lot of the footage they still use for Nemesis has Thunder Looper and The Beast in the background

They do always use the same footage of these rides, the oblivion one is ancient as well. I mean when did oblivion have that much mist?

They really need to re shoot loads of rides, as the old footage really does stand out when it's stuck in between footage of CBeebies land or sub terra.
