Nemesis Sub-Terra: "Ongoing Maintenance"

It opened for the first couple of hours on the 7th August, and then never opened again once it shut down at around midday.

The fact it shutdown midday lends some credibility that there was some kind of fault initially, as it seems odd to open it for a couple of hours in the morning if it was a planned closure.

Towers are now saying on Twitter that it is likely to be closed for the remainder of the season due to on going maintenance issues.

To be honest they really should just give up on sub terra and save money but it's a bit late for that as they have already changed restraints and ordered any new parts.

Maybe they've decided to cut their losses on it for this season and come up with an overhaul over the winter.

I quite enjoy Sub-Terra because the staff are part of the theming, not just ride operators. We go on about Alton losing 'the Magic', but I felt a tingle of it on Sub-Terra. Who'd have thought it, a theme park indulging in a little theme.
The staff make me cringe on this ride. The 'cheap scares' really don't do it for me (like shouting boo when the lift door opens). I would much prefer it if they were wearing masks and informing you of the bare minimum beforehand/shouting at you to run after the ride.
