Fireworks 2015

stood at bottom of towers street just before the lawn (didnt want muddy feet)

As a general rule for the best view of the Fireworks you need to be on the grass, I always wear boots to AT fireworks as I know i will get muddy feet. Also the water screen last year was only really visible on the lawn as well.

The history of Sir Alginon and the huss sort of links with him making out spares and junk.

Hmm....Im gonna have to disagree with you on that one. Every year I tend to either stand infront of the Towers Street restaurant (though, the past few years they have stopped you - this year it was a VIP area), or I stand on the grass where the scarefest sign was right on the rocks at the very front. Not only do you not get muddy but you can see over everyones heads and get a perfect view of everything.

I stood at the very front for the show last year and next day in my usual spot and preferred the usual spot. And with the laser projections this year, it really did look better the further back you were I think.....

The fireworks where an experience. Very music driven, although the pauses for story works for clearing firework smoke.

First time seeing the fireworks in years, but thought they were excellent.

Decent attempt at a story, different sections clear to determine and mostly good use of music. Lighting and fireworks worked well together. You're never going to get something on the scale of a permanent installation like that at Disney, so all in all a good display.

After this season it was also good to see the park busy and queues for rides - even the extended queue line for Mine Train was in use ;)

First time visit to the fireworks yesterday so can't compare to previous years, but thought the display was great and personally enjoyed the mix of lights/pyrotechnics.

Echoing what others have said liked the idea of live performers over videos but from where we were stood on towers street couldn't really see any of the dancers so if they're back next year would be good to have a few more further back in the crowd.

Aside from the fireworks it was good to see the park have some life in it again, for the first time this year we had to queue for everything we went on (including duel.... I think this is the first time I have ever gone through the duel queue area).

Sorry if this is a silly question @delta79 how does that figure compare to other years? Up to this year hadn't been to the park for a few years so I have no idea what would have been considered normal guest numbers for fireworks.

.

Never seen Duel using the "graveyard" but remember seeing Haunted House having massive queues in that area :)

Fantastic music. Hope they get the use it again at some point. Makes you wonder that if they can go to so much effort to record such a fantastic piece of music for the sake of 3 nights why cant they get some decent Towers Street music sorted?!

Also, has anyone else actually noticed the Nemesis music? (03:15 on the video)

Went for the first time on Friday night. Thought it was excellent, especially the finale music. Reminded me how good the Hex theme is.

Compared to previous years I would have said it was pretty quiet. In previous years, capacity closures could be threatened, but it never really got close to that kind of level.

Most days during Scarefest half term week were far busier both during the daytime and later in the evening. Of course there is always a perception that fireworks will "feel" busy due to everyone congregating in a small area at the same time.

Queue times at the rides didn't get too exceptionally long during Fireworks, except for perhaps very temporarily in the rush after fireworks ended, and for some of the rides that operated during the time most others were closed (notably mine train in close proximity to the fireworks).

On Friday 6th - I have never ever seen the park so empty. It really was incredible, walking around parts of the park literally with no one else about, on an event day. Yeah the weather was rubbish and yes it was a working day for most, but even still. Didnt queue for anything all day, not one ride.

After 4pm the place did get busier and there were a fair amount on the lawns, but nothing like previous years.

From what i hear there was two jump points for guest numbers during Saturday and Sunday one around 1300 the other at 1600.

I'm back from the fireworks event. I was there all three days and nights and watched the display from exactly the same space every night.

Guess numbers, the park was very quiet during the day on Friday and Sunday with most rides being walk on for most of the day.

Saturday was busy throughout the day.

The evenings is where the park really picked up in numbers.

As for the display, as much as I enjoyed the show, it wasn't my favorite year for the display. As much as I love the podium dancers with the light up costumes and instruments, I personally would have love to see this more as part of the pre-show. I wasn't easy watching these as the same time as the fireworks in the sky.

I absolutely love the Hex/ITMOTK final. Got to be my favorite part of the display.

At the end of the day, it is nice to see that Alton trying to do something different.

Yeah that Hex/ITMOTK was amazing wasnt it - just been watching it on YouTube again and i'm beginning to appreciate it even more now I can just how well timed the fireworks were. I think with the dancers, lasers, lights, fireworks, it really was an assault on the senses!

And yep, totally agree, Alton had a refresh on Scarefest this year and a refresh with the Fireworks. I think they did really well with both and ended what has been a bad year on a high.

I notice that the lights on the spoke of the wheels were intermittently working on the Saturday and the spots on the top left-hand side seemed not to be working on the Sunday.

The other thing I felt was that the Saturday fireworks were a lot more explosive (especially the grand finally) on the Saturday compared to the other two days.

Looks like this was filmed on the Friday night as last night instead of just a few rockets on the wheel going off is was a full light show as Sir Al composed the music.
Made it a lot more dramatic
Maybe they changed it, or it just wasn't working on Friday
