February Half Term: No opening in 2016

It's more likely to open for the main season in March. So they can advertise it as a new ride for 2016.

I don't think you should count on there even being a February half-term the way things are shaping up.
If there is a FHT next year, what rides are we expecting? I'd say nemesis, oblivion and sonic (same as this year, but with oblivion instead of air). Will we still have blade?

Given Blade was only intended to be removed for SW8, and SW8 has been shelved/pushed back, I could see it still sitting there next year.

If FHT is back next year I can see it being the same line up, with Oblivion instead of Air. They cut back on the offerings last year which didn't leave much. If they cut more rides out of the line up there will be nothing there worth going for!

Just wondering as I was planning on buying tickets for FHT because I'd quite like to go and see if you could see anything that's changed on Air from outside the area that they will supposedly be closing off

If February half term happens (there are currently no details of it at all on Alton Towers' website) then there's no chance that Air would be open.

:)

They may use that time to get everything sorted that they rushed to do in park time this year.

I personally like having FHT because I can go for my birthday, and its a good day to increase my ridecount. I'll be happy with nemesis and oblivion though, maybe RMT and sonic too. Nemesis sub terra would be good if it's open, but I won't hold my breath.

Sub-terra was closed for FHT 2015 and i doubt oblivion will be open for FHT 2016 more likely to be rita and i doubt that too.

  1. The line up can change, if it's working then I see no reason sub terra can't open
  2. Oblivion has been open for FHT in the past
  3. Rita and 13 can't operate for FHT.

The event is primarily aimed at families so there's no need to have all coasters open, a handful open usually pleases those who visit.

Regarding nothing on the website about half term, they didn't update the website with FHT details until mid-December last year. So if we see nothing by Christmas this year then we know for sure the event is no more!

Hi Everyone.

While i know its a bit early to start this i thought ied ask the question.

Do you think there will be a FHT event next year at Alton Towers - OR do you think it will be pulled next year due to ongoing developments.

I only ask as someone tweeted AT about FHT and they said.

Morning! We dont have any confirmation on this as yet. We will keep you posted as soon as we have more info!

With everything going on at the moment I don't think we can say yes or no for certain. However, my gut feeling is we won't see an event in 2016.

The event was never immensely popular, and I think was just a 'nice to have' to give the park a run in. There's no doubt a massive focus on everything bringing in sufficient revenue to cover costs next season - more so than ever, and with weather previously being an issue around the event and numbers being substantially lower during main season, I doubt they'll want to take a gamble in 2016.
