Rollercoaster Restaurant: General Discussion

It has a dinner menu which says reservations from 5pm. Does this mean it's going to be open for hotel guests at night then because this would be a great move.

I've never been to EP's version so this could be a moot comment, but only 13 tables? That doesn't sound good at all!

Each table seats 3 separate groups of up to 4 people if my memory serves me. They are large tables separated into sections.

Yup, that's correct - I think I've seen sections of FoodLoop tables at EP with up to five seats in them, but I might be wrong on that one.

Regarding the logo, it seems to be the brand logo as seen on this website, all of the rollercoaster restaurants have followed this logo.

Having given a quick glance over the menu, it certainly seems lunch will be served between the Theme Park hours and dinner will be available for hotel guests.

There seems to be a large variety, but I fear it, like other Towers restaurants, it'll be grossly over-priced. I'm praying MAP discount is included.

(Also notice in the promotional picture on the website, it has different artwork of the past & present rides at Alton, maybe we'll get some nice artwork and not the vile marketing print we've got in the burger kitchen).

FoodLoop has 125 seats according to Europa's website, although the number of tables slips my mind.

You can already reserve tables via the existing hotels reservation system. Based on that the planned opening date is 13th May.

Lunch is 11-4, dinner 5-10 so hopefully if you book it won't be too long a wait.

They can call it "The Fantabulous Amazing Merlin Roller Coaster Burger (Resort)!" all they like... but we all know it'll be the same cardboard shite they serve in Burger Kitchen.

You forget the 15% mark up on the burger kitchen prices :D

If I was staying in the hotel I'm not sure I would like the long long walk back and forth just to get some food. Hope they will provide transport

They will make you walk the long way round, from the hotel, to the park entrance, then all the way up to Valley.... and back again!

Maybe you'll travel there by rollercoaster.

I don't think it'll be the Merlin food we're used to - I think all the restaurants have to have a quality stamp, as its not a Merlin restaurant; it's an outside brand.

to be fair most food Ive had at the secret garden restaurant has been very tasty, so hopes are high for the evening menu, the lunch menu will prop be cardboard burger and slop tho

the portion sizes probably will be quite small as well, because of the design of the delivery system.

I'm not a fan of the logo or certainly the use of Alton towers resort in it. I imagine they didn't have complete say on that, but the one at AP is called food loop and doesn't have the Rollercoaster restaurant logo on it.

The menu looks nice, but typical burgers and steaks that all their other restaurants sell, the descriptions also make them sound rather expensive!

Yeah the menu does seem somewhat limited. They could do with a restaurant that has a bit of variety going on, something for everyone.

The food does sound like it will be expensive, if a cardboard burger from Burger Kitchen costs you £7, I'd dread think what a "hancrafted blended beef burger" and "handcrafted Rollercoaster brioche bun" will cost.

I'm betting on prices being in the £15-£25 range for meals.
