Rollercoaster Restaurant: General Discussion

Just didn't know what was happening with the copyright they got. Rollercoaster restaurant sounds so unimaginative
It's a brand that operates other restaurants in Europe. They all use that name - it was probably part of the licensing agreement.

I don't mind the name really. I'm sure it makes marketings job a lot more easier. At least there's a reason behind the simple name, rather than it's a name decided on by Towers.

Depending what they can get away with inside the building, a montage or timeline of all the coasters (old and present) of Alton Towers on the walls would look nice (it looks like they will do that looking at the promo picture). Plus music wise a playlist of all the coasters audio as background noise would be lovely.

I'm not hoping for anything more than a new restaurant with good food, but any extra touches would be very welcome.

Problem I could see with the name "intergalactic" though is that lots of people may just think it's a regular restaurant. At least with "rollercoaster restaurant" it's obvious what it is.

Just a little tidbit but the Corporate Marketing team have sent emails out today marketing the RCR as a Corporate dining experience. Of note the blurb states it will be able to cater for up to 150 delegates. This may be more than the "on the day" capacity (corporate events "squeeze" people in as there are less concerns about "sitting next to strangers). However it may have a larger capacity than first feared.

Interesting it's open to anyone in the evenings (not just theme park and hotel guests). Wonder if this is testing the waters to see demand after the park closes (from day guests and locals) before they go ahead with some kind of entertainments village between the resort and park.

I'm interested in seeing what this 'walkway' between the hotels to the park will be like too.

I suspect it'll just be Woodland Walk by the sounds of it, they've spent the past year installing fencing between the path and the valley which must have a purpose other than H&S.

Says New walkway on the FAQs, and TS facebook has photos of a new walkway under the monorail track.

Just had a look now, was correct in guessing beforehand it wouldn't be a new walkway. Just re-using the exit to the car park that only gets used during Fireworks.

They had a picture showing a clearing under the monorail it doesn't mean it will be the path. For my money it is more likely a fire exit as an addition to the woodland walk

As if they used 'fantastical' in the FAQ somewhere...

Glad to see its open to all after park closing. As James said, hopefully this is testing the water for future ents/evening developments on resort.

Can't help but grin at that.

This is definitely a good addition to the park even if the food is crap (never been to one) the novelty value is very high.

Kids (old and young) are going to love this.
