I'm giving it 2-3 years before half the headsets don't work and they rip out the VR system because it's not cost effective to keep.

Hopefully by that time they sell the coaster. And install something great there, it's a decent sized space.

Not an air fan?

Lol you could say that.

I appreciate the engineering behind it and love watching the cars "assume the position."

And when I rode when I was 17, opening week I loved. Although I always wished it was faster.

Each time I've gone on it I've had different opinions.

But as a whole, it hurts my neck and the bit laying on your back just makes me wanna be sick.

If people are worried about increased numbers of 'guest illnesses' due to the VR then The Smiler would have been the worst candidate! :D
the Sonic Spinball would be quite bad with VR as well!
i think Thirteen would work, though.

Apparently (according to their twitter) they are keeping the Neon Air sign, god knows what they would do with it though

I think The Smiler would have worked well with VR, it's a ride with a long length and the inversions mess with your mind. Obviously what with the crash that wouldn't be possible now.
I actually had a dream last night that The Smiler now had VR and but it wasn't very good. In my dream the Air train was without its restraints, just wooden pegs, and people had to hold on very tightly to stay on!

Yeah and then we're left with a half baked space theme.

Another item to join the ever growing pile of relics from a better long gone era...

I know I already posted but I'm really disappointed about this. Air as it stands is my favourite ride (anywhere, though I haven't been to a great deal of theme parks). I even have the Air theme music on my ipod as it reminds me of happy times!

'Prepare for Air...Now cryy...cryy...cry...' :(

Guessing they won't be using 'prepare for air, now fly' tagline as it doesn't fit like it did. Used to love hearing that and seeing the seats assume the position. Other than that, I am still unsure how I feel on this. Air isn't my favourite ride, but its a good solid coaster and I don't know if having VR will make it better or worse. Guess the proof will be in the pudding when riding it. If anything I would assume the amount of people being sick will go up from previous years though.

I'll always love (and now miss) the sequence in the station 'Prepare for Air, assume the position, now flyyy'.

I've always had a soft spot for Air, I loved the marketing for it and love the brand. It's just a shame the whole oasis theme was never fully convinced, shame those waterfalls and rock work never happened.

Actually, there is no reason they can't (though I'm sure they won't as it would confuse people and towers probably don't even know their own storyline) use any air theming, audio or signage as the storyline of galactica is that you are on air, and using the existing coaster as a population device to launch you into space. Technically, (in terms of the storyline) you are still on air, and using it to ride galactica.

Does anyone know why Air never got its full planned themeing? It can't be prohibitively expensive to build some ponds and fountains.
