TS Official Meet Calendar 2016

Yeah I agree that it's better if you become friends with us online first before meeting us in person. It's a great laugh on this forum and you'll definitely make friends in no time @ZeldaAlton :) Just don't give away your Facebook account if you have one. Trust me, you'll regret it :p

Well well well, what have we got here?

Having finally got round to purchasing a new MAP after pretty much a full season without one, I am hoping to show my face a bit more this season. I was pretty much non-existant on meets last year aside from the odd mini/unofficial meet here and there, so I can't wait to get back into things and get seeing people again :D

First up for me should be the Sunday of opening meet, sadly Saturday is a no can do, thanks to a couple of prior engagements! See you all there :D

I've just booked flights and the hotel for Phantasialand part of the international TS trip. I'll meet everyone when they get to the theme park on Wed 24th Aug

With many rides being closed at Mandyland yesterday, I'm looking at potentially doing the Merlinpool meet now. Could get some use out of my MAP too! :)

Just booked most of the date's off work, Will be on every meet apart from maybe the restaurant and the international one.

I had hoped to post the opening weekend meet today, but unfortunately there is a spanner in the works with accommodation. We are discussing this as a team and hope to get the discussion up ASAP!

:)

It's looking like the only meets I'll be able to do this year will be Scarefest and Fireworks due to work commitments. Hopefully there might be a chance that I could do South meet this year, but that'll have to be judged closer to the time.

Would be nice to try and show my face a bit more on meets this year!

I should be able to do all the Alton towers ones on the Saturdays (bar opening weekend as that's my Saturday on at work and we are not getting our MAP till the week after and the Thorpe park one will be awesome to meet some of you.

ScareFarce and Firewerks for me. Will be leading the charge on mini-meets though...

Anyone going to South meet who doesn't have an MAP? Want to get in to Thorpe Park for just 12p? This could be the deal for you!
Thorpe Park said:
GET IN FOR A BOB” AT THORPE PARK RESORT THIS YEAR
THORPE PARK Resort rolls back prices to the equivalent of a Victorian shilling to celebrate the arrival of Derren Brown’s Victoriana inspired Ghost Train

· Spend a day at THORPE PARK Resort for just 12p – Good Friday deal starts at 10am
· Enter exclusive promo code DBGT1871 to roll back the price
· Derren Brown’s Ghost Train arrives on Friday 6 May 2016
· 12p tickets can be used from Saturday 26 March until Thursday 6 October

THORPE PARK Resort is rolling back ticket prices this Easter weekend with their ‘get in for a bob’ offer. A limited amount of tickets will be available at Victorian price rates to coincide with the announcement of the Friday 6th May opening date of Derren Brown’s Ghost Train.

This special offer is limited to 1,871 tickets, the date in which Derren Brown’s Ghost Train is set (1871). From 10am on Good Friday (25 March), tickets will be available through the THORPE PARK Resort website for just 12p, the equivalent of 1 shilling. A maximum of four tickets per person can be purchased to use in the park anytime from Saturday 26 March until Thursday 6th of October 2016 – guests must select the date they would like to visit the Park when they book. **

Ticket prices are being sent back to the Victorian era to celebrate the news that Derren Brown’s Ghost Train will open on Friday 6th May. Guests will be taken on a head-spinning train journey of between 10-15 minutes, the like of which guests will never have taken before; providing a heady mixture of exhilarating live action sequences, 4D special effects, grand-scale illusions, next generation technology, and physical transit. No place for spectators, guests will play a major part in the action which will leave them questioning where perception ends and reality begins.

THORPE PARK Resort’s biggest and most ambitious investment to date, Derren Brown’s Ghost Train takes theme park attractions to a whole new level, promising to derail guests’ minds with a series of multi-sensory experiences. Like its inventor, this is a smart ride that also has 12 multiple knee-shaking journeys and two endings - so not only will no two ‘rides’ on board Derren Brown’s Ghost Train be the same but every journey will provoke an intense response and reaction in each individual ‘passenger.’ So whilst guests may share the journey with others, the experience will be an individual one – and every journey, every sensation and every fear will be quite unique.

For the chance to purchase your 12p* tickets please head to www.thorpepark.com/12p-ticket and click ‘Buy Now’ then enter the exclusive promo code DBGT1871 to roll back the price.

When the 12p tickets run out, guests can take advantage of THORPE PARK Resort’s online price saver, where day tickets start from just £27.99. Or if you want to make the most of visit, stay over at the THORPE SHARK Hotel and take advantage of the kids go free accommodation package which ends on 30 April 2016 – pay £164 for a family of four (£82 per person and kids go free).

Limited to only 1871 tickets which go on sale at 10am on Friday 25th March with promo code DBGT1871.

Hope that is helpful for some!

:)

Have you got the link for that?

Not that I think it is a bad offer,
but being an old git I can only say people will be overcharged here...
A bob was 5 "new" pence,
but twelve old pennies (d)...
twelve pennies to the shilling,(or bob),
then twenty shillings to the pound,
or 240 pennies to the pound.
You can see why they went decimal can't you.
Thorpe are charging over double what they should be,
but I think we can let them off in the circumstances.

It's a press release from Thorpe that I noticed over on CoasterForce!

:)

I'm considering south meet now, with it being the weekend after my exams finish - yay! However I'll probably do Chessie/Lego instead of Paultons on the Saturday. Having a MAP, I can't really justify £25+ for a couple of vekomas and a dinosaur. I have the other credits anyway. :p

For those attending Merlinpool in July and maybe don't have a Merlin Pass, you can purchase a 'Resort Pass' for £55 which gains you entry to...
  • Blackpool Pleasure Beach (includes wristband)
  • Nickelodeon Land
  • The Blackpool Tower Eye & 4D Experience
  • The Blackpool Tower Dungeon
  • SEA LIFE Blackpool
  • Madame Tussauds Blackpool
....and can be booked at http://www.blackpoolresortpass.com/ :)

I am confirmed for the South weekend!

There are a small group of us doing Chessington on the Saturday instead of Paulton's, but we'll be joining the rest of you for Thorpe on the Sunday. We are still staying at Basingstoke Travelodge for the sosche in the evenings.

Current prices are around £105 for a room for 2 nights!

:D

Why would anyone go to Chessington after last year's shambles?
