Major Ride Closures 2016

Forbidden Valley today had less than half its full complement of rides. With Galactica not yet open, NST indefinitely closed and Ripsaw just plain gone. With just Blade and Nemesis to deal with the crowds, you'd imagine there would be a plan to run the two rides left to their maximum capacity.

It's therefore beyond belief that for whatever reason Nemesis was running only one train today.

I'm going to guess that a lot of rides will be operated on reduced capacity a lot more like Thorpe Park this year.

Are you forgetting the JEWEL in Forbidden Valleys crown....

FORBIDDEN SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEP

Not sure which theme park you spent today at where a ride called Nemesis was on one train, but it certainly wasn't Alton Towers. It was definetly on two trains.

Actually a I saw a few complaints on the AT social media it was running one train for a while

Both Rita and Nemesis were on one train, Rita a train was put on but I think they may have taken one off on Nemesis. One train on nemesis seemed quite rough, and I usually find it reasonably comfortable, may have been a couple of bad rides or start of season warm up though.

Well I can guarantee I rode at 11.30am today and there was one train operation. I am able to count. And yes it was Alton Towers. The second train was very clearly in the shed and in seemingly ready state to go into operation - it just didn't.

Also witnessed one train operation going back on the monorail at 3.30pm.

When I went on Rita at about 1 it was 2 trains as me and my friend was talking about how rough one of them sounded everytime it went over the brake run
And nemmy was also on 2 trains at about half 2 when we was on

Rita was on two train operation when I was on it at about 11:45 and Nemesis was on two train operation at 2:00 too. Think they both must of started off on one train operation but soon got up to two.

Probably, don't think they expected it to be as busy as it was (40 minute queues on Rita, I think nemesis queue was around 25 minutes and the smiler queue was long all day pretty much) so if it carries on like this, good for them!

both were down for a while in the morning though. Thirteen was on two, oblivion was on four.

Park was dead today. 10 minutes for smiler most the day and 5 for most other things.

The ride closures are not brilliant.

You can make use of this information as you choose. Please don't ask me where this information came from or to verify it. I'm on the understanding that Hex has had some work done on it including new floor, new projector and the mechanical curtain repaired. I'm also on the understanding that it's waiting for a new gear-ring (or what ever you call this). So we could be seeing Hex open some time this year?

I believe that there is working taking place on Hex at the moment. Hopefully once they have completed the work then they willl open the ride but I suppose it could come down to performance over the first few weeks/months of the season. If things go well they may try and open it for the busier summer period. One can hope!

:)

I've only heard of work taking place, opening for the summer is a hopeful guess on my part!

:)

I was told over the weekend there was a few new rides being planned whether this is true or not I dunno but I hope it is
To me it makes sense to close the rides this season if they expect it to be quieter let's hope this year is a year they use to rebuild and invest so things start to improve long term

Carter's Decor have uploaded a photo to Facebook of the Driving School building having been repainted, suggesting that it may well be open at some point in the near future!
