Galactica: General Discussion

I'm sure if you tell the ride op that you don't want to wear it they'll be understanding, I can't see why they wouldn't be.

What are they gonna do, tie your hands together and and ram it on your head if you say no? Kick you off the ride? Ridiculous.

if i ever decide to ride it (never been on it before, even when it was Air), i would want to ride without the headset. also, qualifying for their priority system, does anyone know if the original Disabled/Priority entrance is still there or whether there's a new one, in case i ever decide to try Galactica?

I believe the old one is still there as a few of our members used it on Sunday. However, we joined both queues at the same time, and the main queue was 45 mins whereas the disabled queue was over 65 minutes.

the disabled queue was over 65 minutes.
ouch, is that even possible? i walked down it once, so that a disabled member of my group could skip the queue, even though i wasn't riding (i got a wristband, they didn't). i don't remember the Disabled/Priority queue line being that long.

I think @John worked it out to have a throughput of 40pph, as they're reserving the back row of the right-hand station for disabled guests. It's not designed to be a queue-jumper, it's designed as an easier-access point. Priority entrance is the Fastrack entrance.

the reason i qualify for the pass/wristband is because i can get agitated/distressed if i have to wait in a long or slow-moving queue. usually (especially at Drayton Manor, where i can only use the pass/wristband 10 times), if a ride has a relatively short queue, i'll use the main one, but if there's a long queue, i'll use the exit or disabled/priority entrance.

My Galactica experience today...
stood in line for ten minutes without moving,
just before the photo booth.
Gave up and exited via the fasttrack line back to the entrance,
followed by half a dozen other people!
Out of interest,
how long does it take to get on the ride from the photo booth thingy?

Cheers folks...
looks like I made the correct decision.
Now if someone could just sort out the queues on the M6 through Cheshire.

Now that was an issue while I was in the queue,
the people ahead (after the photo point) were sent to the bridge,
but chose to go right.
The lass managing the queue merge point stomped down the queue and dragged them back to the bridge queue.

I'd have had a sharp word if she thinks it's acceptable to make somebody wait what would be well over an hour across that bridge then somebody behind to come and be allocated the right hand station which would take about half that. what a joke! They really need to allocate 50/50 to each station and make the queue build before the photo point instead.

I found on Sunday that the queue moves *relatively* quickly before the photo point, and then REALLY slowly afterwards. They didn't seem to allocate a side on Sunday either, we just went to the right hand side.
