Galactica: General Discussion

it should work 50/50 though... in order to get that bridge full they must be allocating 50/50 until the right hand station Q is full, so they just send them until the bridge is full too. So more like 70/30 to the bridge. It needs to stop, once that right hand station is full, keep people waiting before the photo point.

There's even gaps between the bridge sides and floor so can't be that hard to operate it that way as you can see people's feet as it builds up.

The bridge wasn't full yesterday when people were sent back to the bridge side entry,
perhaps that is why the queue manager got on her high horse and dragged people back.
Maybe punters have already heard that the right side queue is shorter overall.

After finally getting round to riding I have to say I was completely blown away by Galactica! The soundtrack is fantastic, definitely one of my favourite in the park, sounded amazing booming away in the plaza. The atmosphere in the station is great! The only downfall for me (apart from the slow moving queue of course) is that I didn't find it half as good the 2nd time I rode as I knew what was coming. It's one of those one trick pony rides. Massive thumbs up from me though!

Today we queued 20 minutes before the photo point, then after the photo point we were sent straight down to board the ride! This was when the queue was advertised as 60 minutes on ride times. Still, not complaining! Pleasantly surprised by the whole experience, the music is great and it all comes together nicely. Will be very interesting when they add different destinations to experience. Only gripe would be I couldn't get the focus quite right on the headset.

With the game, has anyone won? I have yet to win any prizes. Any possible tips as I would love to win something.

So far I've won 4 Entry Tickets and 4 Galactica Cardboard headsets! I think it's purely random so cant offer any tips. I didnt win anything for quite a while, then won 4 in quick sucession. Havent had anything for a while again now though.

I can't even spin the wheel. Every time I spin the wheel it says I'm limited to 10 spins a day. Then the number of spins I have left increase. Says I have 90 spins now! Yet I can't spin once!

As for the compulsory wearing of VR, I'm disappointed in it, especially when towers have said all along that it is recommended but not compulsory. There are a lot of annoyed people on their FB and Twitter pages.

I have done it with VR a few times and wasn't a massive fan of it, so would quite like to ride without VR every now and then. I like the lift hill on the VR, so will jus take my headset off at the top of the lift hill. It's not like they will e stop the ride will they!

The app will not let me spin at all. And wont give me the free daily spin.

That's quite annoying. The app was awful on my phone and ended up having to factory reset (not just to get the Galactica game working I might add) and it worked fine after that, it was of the first things reinstalled. have you tried forcing the app to stop in App Manager? As the application doesn't have the functionality to close which can sometimes cause issues.

Saying that the AR scanner doesn't load on mine at all. to be honest I think the whole things riddled with bugs and errors.

Headsets are probably being enforced to reduce faff, although like said a page or two back I doubt they would pin you down and force you to wear it...

I'm going to refuse to wear a headset when I next visit just to see what they say. If they make me wear it I'll just remove it after the lifthill, as that's the only bit about the video that I enjoyed.

Strange that they have changed their tone on the VR being optional, I can only assume it is related to being able to keep their claim of "world's first coaster fully dedicated to VR", not that anyone cares about that!

Are they really going to be able to force everyone to wear it though? I did not use the VR on my second ride last Saturday and it wasn't a problem. If someone says that they don't want to then they're hardly going to force the headset on to someone's head, yet are they going to ask people to get up and leave if they've queued an hour? I'd like to hope not, people will refuse to leave. Will they call security? That would be very pety. All in all it's only likely to cause even more faff!

:)

Maybe they are worried the ride will be seen as a failure as more and more people opt not to wear the VR once they have tried it a few times. Me personally, I think after my 2nd or 3rd go on it with the VR I will probably ride it the rest of the year as Air.

I haven't managed to get to AT this year but reading between the lines I assume the video/theme/story is the same everytime. Is that correct?

There were rumours of 2 different videos dependent on which side of the station you entered but I haven't noticed anyone mention this since it opened.
