Trip Planning 2023/24: Information, advice and questions!

Sorry to be pestering you all again! :p Few more things I've realised I need an answer to!

1. Is it possible to get front or back row on the ride by asking the staff? Or is your row designated? I'm talking about stuff like Blue Fire.
2. Do the VR tickets sell out often? Because I ideally want to do a couple of VR rides on Alpen and Pegasus and I need to know if I should head there very early.

There is generally no batching on rides, apart from Wodan and Blue Fire IIRC, however these do have a front row queue. It's not worth queueing front row for BF if it's past the archway in the front row queue, or more than half way down the steps on Wodan.

On rides like Silverstar, Matterhorn-Blitz, Eurosat etc, it's a case of every man for himself. Sometimes, if a row is popular you may have to wait a bit longer for it, but throughputs are generally superb, so it's no issue.

Silver does also have a front row queue. :)

Regarding VR rides, for alpenexpress it was very popular at the beginning, getting sold ou quite quickly. After a few weeks, it was much more quiet. Pegasus was very busy on opening day, and will certainly be for a few weekd too, so you should book it early if you want to try it.

I am off to Europa Park for 2 days on the 21st & 22nd April.

We are staying in the Bell Rock hotel, can you tell me what rides you get special access too? I see on their website that you get 30 mins early access, but what are they?

The rides open during early ride time vary throughout the season, generally there'll be more open when the park is expected to be busier. 21st-22nd April has a minimum close time of 6pm, the earliest possible, so there probably won't be that much available. As a minimum, it'll be Kolumbusjolle and Feria Swing. There could be more available, with the most likely candidates including Alpenexpress, Altantica Supersplash and Wiener Wellenflieger.
 
The ERT offering does vary, as John said. However - my personal recommendation - if there's nothing major open (usually Alpenexpress will be), then the best thing to do is to get to Arthur as soon as possible after park opening. You will find a minimal queue and if you are using the resort hotel entrance, it's a lot closer to Arthur than the main entrance to the park - so you'll beat the rush.

Arthur is a pleasant ride - but certainly not mindblowing and certainly not worth more than a 40 minute wait - which in busier times, it will exceed.

Quick question guys about how busy you may think the park would be.... I have a couple of days holiday on a Monday and Tuesday late July, when the German schools are on holiday (25th and 26th). Anyone any idea how busy it would be at the park and has anyone been during the school holidays?
Any help would be great.
 
July might be busy, France also is on holiday and I think that swiss too.
But its not as busy as in august, and considering that the summer party is on the 30th, it might be quieter a few days before.
I would recommend 2 days at least, and if you can stay untill the Saturday you'll be Lucky to experiment the summer party. Its the only day of the season when the park and all its rides are opened untill midnight (except silver star that closes earlier for noise reasons). Of course is one of the busiest day of the season, but it is also one of the bests!
 
Just over two weeks to go now until my first Europa trip [so excited for this].

In regards to the park I have one question. I was bought a go pro for christmas and was wondering what the park's regulations were to using them?

I have a 'Chesty' chest harness which I used on the rides at EP last year. They don't mind at all, and it was only checked on Blue Fire that the camera was on tightly. :)
 
Cool, that sounds promising,

So worst thing that can happen is they check, say no, hand it to them and pick it up after ride?

What's a better out of interest, chest strap, wrist strap or something else?
 
^ This, to be honest. Throughput is Serious Business at EP, and getting in its way can result in some staff getting peeved. Even the park's majority of polite hosts prioritise getting buttocks onto seats and restraints down above all else.
 
Is it recommended to take a rucksack to the park? Are there suitable facilities at each ride to store it whilst riding? Thanks.
 
The bigger coasters have bag stores, but most rides you have to take it with you.
 
Only Arthur (Im Koenigreich der Minimoys), Wodan, Bluefire and Silver Star have bag stores. In other rides you have to take it with you, sometimes there is little space in the train, but you will always find a way to keep it.
 
Does anyone know when the summer season 2017 starts? I can't see it on their site and would really like to go for opening day?!?
