Derren Brown has let the Merlin accountants out of their offices!

Or it's just a press stunt, you know

IMAscore have released a clip of music for the ride, and it's a much better version than the one Thorpe uploaded the other day. Reminds me a bit of some of his tv shows music.

That's the luxury of...stereo recording! Something Thorpe clearly have never heard of ;)

That would make sense when you think about it. Most of the time guests are only going to be near one speaker as they walk past. No sense in having a mix with some parts that your audience can't hear due to speaker location. Let's be honest, most area music is piped out of single speakers dotted around the place, rather than stereo pairs.

Yes but the final mixes are also in stereo...they might be delivered partially in mono for the speakers but the versions that go online to show off on videos etc are in stereo.

Thorpe Park have just announced that Derren Brown's Ghost Train will not be ready for its originally planned, May 6th opening day. A new opening day will be posted via the parks official social media channels

Was just about to post this, here is what Thorpe have said:
Thorpe Park said:
After careful consideration we’re moving the opening date for Derren Brown’s Ghost Train. This attraction is a completely new invention and we are making final tweaks to the remaining elements to get things absolutely perfect. We want you guys to have the full mind-blowing experience from the very first time you ride!

We will post the new opening date here as soon as we can, so check in with our social channels for updates. Please know that this decision was not taken lightly as we know some of you have booked tickets to ride in anticipation of the 6 May opening date, and the last thing we want to do is disappoint you. If your ticket falls on a date before ride opening then please e-mail [email protected] and our team will help you out.

Good old Merlin, can't even get a ride due to open part way into the season open on time!

:)

Well I'd rather it open late and have all the details finished than what it's current state is probably like. People would have moaned about it not being finished if it had opened on time, they can't win.

I get that it might not be finished so pushing it back is fine, by why do they feel that such short notice is acceptable? They seem to be developing a track record of pushing their rides back with very little notice now, and that's what's going to rile the public up the most.

Why oh why do Merlin continue to do stuff like this?

It's a multi-million pound theme park ride they're putting up, not a shed. They must have know at least several weeks before now that it wasn't going to be ready on time, not a week before it opens.

I'm not surprised, but it really is a poor effort.
