Parc Asterix or Disneyland?

I have somehow found myself with a completely spare day in Paris on Sunday :D Anyway long story short I am looking to visit either Parc Asterix or Disney. I only have 1 day there and I can imagine rushing around Disney in a day will be a bit of a rush. Plus being an adult (debatable) male by myself I think most of the Disney magic will be lost on me and Parc Asterix appears to have better thrill rides.

So if you were in my shoes which would you go for?

P.s. If I go to Disney without my girlfriend I am likely to be mutilated on my return to British shores.

If I was in your shoes I'd choose Asterix. I love Disney but if you've never been before (?) you really do need more than one day to take it all in. Plus there's a fair amount of rides closed for refurbishment at present.

Oz'Iris at Asterix is brilliant and it should also be a much cheaper day out overall!

:)

Thank you Rob, you assume correctly I haven't been before. I'll have to find myself stranded for longer in Paris to do Disney :)

I think Oz'Iris and Zeus were already swaying me towards Asterix, I will try and have wander around and see if I can spot some progress on the new coaster.

I'd go with DLP but a) vengeful girlfriend and b) half of it is closed for refurbishment. Save it for when you're with her and it's all open. And for when you have more than one day, ideally.

Well she has become a bit of a football widow. So maybe a Christmas multiday treat to Disney will be in the cards later in the year for her.

I've booked a coach to Asterix from the Louvre, Cheers for the advice guys.

Diogo I'll report back on whether I survived mixing with the locals. :D

Again thanks for your recommendation. I'm not usually a fan of shows but I checked out the dolphinarium and the roman show. Not a clue what was going on but still enjoyed both.

Zeus was Femme all day :( so I spammed the single rider queue on Oz iris. I think this my new new favourite coaster. Discoblex was good but not worth a 70 min queue IMO. It's a wonderfully themed park that I hope to revisit, if only to ride Zeus.

I could see some building work in the Greek area behind Discoblex. There was tarpaulin screens up so not much to see. Anyone know if this the site for the 2017 coaster. Surely beefing up the Egyptian would be better as it only has 2 rides.

I survived the locals Diogo. My only complaint was the level of queue jumping was crazy.

On a scarier note, there was a security perimeter with scanners before the entrance with metal detectors. Security had a clear box of stuff they have confiscated and I counted 6 knives in the box where I was. Why would someone take a knife to a theme park?

Nevermind I had still had a great day and will look forward to revisiting.

Slightly off topic but security at parks seems to have really stepped up this season.

I have seen security checks at towers, legoland and even Europa Park this season, on top of Thorpe which have always had checks.

Asterix, nothing changes then. When I went in i think 2004 it was queue jumpers galore too.

Lovely park though! Glad you had a good day. From memory Zeus is an excellent woodie. Deffo worth a return visit :)
