What if Merlin sold off Alton Towers?

Are they seriously suggesting that Merlin don't have a monopoly on the UK theme park market because Brighton Pier is a competitor‽‽
 
Efteling is a park that isnt part of a group and it appears to be doing just fine. Phantasialand too.
 
Alton would claim they would spend £350million a week investing in the park and also stop the influx of travellers coming to the park each year. Then, when Alton voted to leave Merlin, it would come to frution that the claims were all lies.
 
This could also result in the park reaching its lowest profits since 1985 and the resignation of the current manager.

In addition if Tr-exit happens, rides such as Thirteen and Galactica may relocate. CBeebies land already plans to move rides to Chessington.

This could also result in the removal of the GDI scheme

In fairness that was gross turnover rather than overall profits, I'd still expect profits to be in the hundreds of millions once they'd found a way to avoid paying as much tax as possible.

I'd imagine that's why Merlin is 'based' in Luxembourg..

...I never really thought that my idea of Merlin selling Towers would bring up similar views to that of the recent EU referendum, not sure if I was shrewd in coming up with this topic back then to make it now seem all relevant, or it's just all coincidence...:confused:
