Scarefest 2016

Towers have just confirmed on facebook that the £10 tickets are valid for scarefest. Not sure why I thought they weren't but I'm sure it said on the back of the ticket that scarefest and fright nights are excluded.

I think it says something about the Scarefest mazes not being included, maybe that's where the confusion is coming from

Unsure if this has already been picked up on, but Terror Of The Towers age restriction has now been reduced to 12+, the same age restriction which was in place a few years ago on the maze, as appose to 15+. Both Sub Species & Skin Snatchers remain at the 15+ age restriction mark, suggesting that Sub Species will remain a more extreme experience, as well as the brand-new Skin Snatchers. Age restrictions are on the Scare Maze pages.

Is there touching in skin snatchers? I'd imagine with its name it would, but haven't seen it confirmed anywhere.personally, I hope it does. In some mazes, it adds a lot. Not sure if a maze with the concept of people taking your skin would work as well without people touching your skin.

I could see touching it would make sense, almost like they're trying to snatch your skin off of you! ;)

Minor thing, but on the website, they have used almost the same promotional image. Don't know if anyone else has noticed, but look how badly the smilers been edited back into the image (and oblivion drop looks a little underwhelming). Could they not have used the same image as last year before they took the smiler out?

Sorry for the double post, but the description of skin searchers on the website has been dramatically shortened. Whereas before it had a fairly detailed brief of the backstory, it now reads only:
"Altonville mines have reopened the pits for public tours. Lift the mask to discover the chilling tale of the skin snatchers...

Beauty is only skin deep..."

Not sure what to make of it, maybe I'm looking into it too much, but now it appears to be going down the "public tour" route. Also, have towers confirmed its not a hooded maze, the line "lift the mask" could suggest this.

And I may be going with someone not sure about mazes. Any ideas for convincing them into the mazes?

Wonder what's up with this. From the very beginning ToTT was originally always 14+ (strange number I know), then it went down to 12+ around 2-3 years ago, up to 15+, and now back down to 12+???

They're probably basing it on feedback from last year. In the past (when it was 14+), it was always one of the scarier offerings. Last year, despite being 15+, I think some over 12's could have managed it. Might have had a bad run through, but it just wasn't scary.

Closing time for Fri 21st Oct (Scarefest) closing is listed as 5pm on the website! Does it normally shut earlier on a Friday in Scarefest! Hoping it's a mistake at the moment :(

And the Notts Derby X52 service leaves at 9pm that night from towers. Useless. That's my trip out the window :/

That can't be right. Last time towers changed the closing time from 9pm was 2014 (I think, possibly the year before, it was changed to 7pm), and they had to reverse it because of complaints. Can't see them cutting it so drastically after last time. I'm sure it's a mistake.

EDIT: are you sure it's scarefest? The dates have changed this year so that day might not be scarefest.

Thanks :) odd how they've changed it last minute? Wish I could do this maze but not old enough :| do you know if they ask for proof of age? Just don't want to buy tickets then not be allowed in.

They didn't last year. All depends on how old you look (I look much younger than 16, so I'm amazed they didn't ask last year). I know 15 year olds who got into operation lockdown (18+).

Trust me though, if it's anything like end games last year, be grateful of the restriction ;)

Based on previous years experience, will Scarefest still be busiest on Halloween even thought's a Monday and outside of most school holidays? It's the only day I can go as the Lancashire school holidays only start on 31 October!
