Well, over the past few days I have sucsessfully had the bejezus scared out of me. Why you ask? Slenderman. I cant really do the explination of slenderman justace so I will just post this link;http://theslenderman.wikia.com/wiki/Slender_Man

To me it is a really interesting topic and really does hit home with how scary he (it) is. I dont know, but if you are interested type marbelhornets into youtube, you will know when you watch.

Really? There is plenty of real scary stuff on the web without having to resort to children's ghost stories.

I don't get this. Am I missing something or is this literally just a character someone made up that got popular in a corner of the internet?
 
I think that's pretty much it, Blaze.
Though it appears to have similarities with other "real" (and I use that term very loosely) entities such as "shadow people".
No doubt the Americans would say it's a demon and you need to pray more.
 
Considering I've bought Amnesia to play it solely at Halloween for hours on end and film it. Looks like I'm going to leave Slendy for now. Anyone else played Amnesia here?

please don't remind me to go back to that game. I tried it once got freaked out at the water section and stopped playing. Tried it again and got to the lower levels before realising it was taking over my life and stopped playing. Right now I'm giving it a break. good game but once it draws you in the atmosphere keeps you hooked until you freak out or complete it (which I haven't managed yet).
 
I like amnesia, one of the most atmospheric games around, I applaud the devs for that! Would love to create a game as atmospheric as that :)

On June 8th, 2009, a “’paranormal pictures” photoshop contest was launched on the Something Awful (SA) Forums.[1] The contest required participants to turn ordinary photographs into creepy-looking images through digital manipulation and then pass them on as authentic photographs on a number of paranormal forums. Something Awful users soon began sharing their faux-paranormal creations with layered images of ghosts and other anomalies, usually accompanied by a fabricated witness account to make them more convincing. On June 10th, SA user Victor Surge posted two black and white photographs of unnamed children with a short description of “Slender Man” as a mysterious creature who stalked children.

I don't get what's scary about an openly made up character. Especially one where the creators couldn't be bothered making a backstory.

I preferred Penumbra: Black Plague to Amnesia. I genuinely don't find Amnesia scary which is a shame. :(

As for Slender, I usually don't get unnerved until 5 pages or so. 7 pages is so awful!

If you want good stories and stuff like slender I suggest you check out the SCP website

I just don't get it. Instead of making all this crap, why don't they go find a nice, abandoned old house and go have some real fun?
