As we close the year of 2016, many people would agree it was a terrible year, what with all the celebrity deaths, politics and terrible decisions from Merlin.

So here's a lovely, optimistic thread (yes, optimistic) for you to cast back to the good moments you've had. So TST, what good events or memories happened last year for you? :)

Positivity? TST? It'll never catch on, Panda. :p

In all seriousness, I had a few good things happen to me last year. I had a wonderful holiday to Norway and Sweden, I changed departments at work (moved from the clothing department to the petrol station), I gained an adorable new niece, and I had a nice few days in London back in November, which included getting on München Looping again and seeing The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time at the Gielgud Theatre in the West End.

-Saw Palace get to an FA Cup final even though we lost.
-Went to Scandinavia and rode Helix and Wildfire which was amazing!
-Have improved a lot in my art skills
-I have become a lot more confident in myself and I hope I can carry that into 2017 :)

Had a nice year on a Merlin pass for a change.
Managed to find King Ina's rock.
Didn't fall out of any trees while pruning.
Managed to complete my tax accounts for last year a full month early...
well the lovely accountant did!
Managed to avoid the excitement of the new ride at Thorpe.
And learnt a lot of new words from the Diogo dictionary.

Ermm... What GOOD came out of 2016, oh yeah I went some roller coasters for the first time in 8 years and my first inverting roller coaster Galactica and I used VR for the first time on Galactica...

My brother and his wife had their first children. They had twins, a boy and a girl. Our family doesn't have a lot to complain about really compared to some poor folks but these additions have been very welcome. For me personally, I'll be able to enjoy time with the kiddies as they grow up going on days out and spoiling them etc, without having to do the day to day boring looking after them stuff! ;)

Also, I've cut my drinking down quite a bit which was starting to get pretty out of control a couple of years back especially. I still enjoy a few beers, but I don't get wasted as much any more. Changing work from working nights to now working day shifts has really helped with this I must say as working nights gave me an excuse to drink at any time of the day when I wasn't on shift. Like I say, I do enjoy a drink relatively frequently but it's not to excess any more. I'm a bit more like a normal person! I usually have one night a week where I have a good ole' piss-up and do have other drinks in the week but a lot less than before. Not a lot else to report really. Same old, same old. Work, sleep, work sleep etc. At least I didn't die though, so that's good :)

New job, less crap taken, more positive outlook on life, beginning of an explanation of my illness, did The Ultimate finally, finally did 4D that didn't suck, used the hell out of my Unlimited Pass. Eh that'll do.

Two good things that happened to me in 2016 (i can't think of any more):

1. i finally conquered Blackpool PB's Big One (AT's Oblivion this year hopefully)

2. my dad (after a lot of asking as he was taking so long) booked tickets for me and a friend to go to my first gig in may this year (Ward Thomas- Cartwheels Tour), which I'll receive on my birthday (March).

Two new jobs, meeting my new niece, bungee jumping off the Auckland harbour bridge, first trip to EP...and I thought this had been a 'meh' year! Thanks for the positive post, Panda! And the great opportunity for alliteration...

I got made permanent at work, and have since been able to travel to a few places I wouldn't otherwise have been to, riding a few coasters along the way. Along with my non-work related travel that gave me a total of 170 coasters ridden last year, of which 85 were ones I hadn't been on before.

2016 was pretty 'meh' for me... Nothing amazing really happened but at the same time nothing bad happened.

My highlight though would be me, my Dad and my Brother forming a band to play at my Sister's wedding. played a few songs, second time singing in front of people, don't plan on doing it again. :tearsofjoy: And that was 9th of January so right at the start.

Which reminds me, I need to by a card...

2017, however, is already planning out to be a pretty good year!
