Shortest maze, terrible queue music, much less involving and generally lower quality. SS:TEG was the best, should have kept that one.

I agree SS:TEG was the best but Mine Tours was brilliantly themed and had so much actor interaction. TOTT was dire in my opinion.

Is the closure of Splash Landings until may expected to result in any refurbishment work to that hotel?

Is the closure purely due to low occupancy rates, and am I correct that this is a new thing this year?

I would be surprised to see any refurbishment work, especially considering the thinly spread TLC budget would likely get spent on the more pressing need of sorting ATH first.

It won't be lack of interest in Splash that'll be closing it, it'll be because it's the cheapest. By forcing punters into ATH, EV and CBeebies by reducing overall capacity via closing their cheaper offering, they can charge far higher prices for the remaining hotel capacity and get away with it. And boy oh boy, they've certainly done that!!

Splash Landings will re-open before CBeebies hotel. So the closure won't drive people to stay there. Yes it gives ATH and lodges as the only options but really it's only going to be April when it could be an issue anyway, during closed season they don't need all the rooms anyway unless someone books a large conference.

I think the hotel occupancy has taken a hit especially last year since they abolished the "deposit" system and whacked up the prices. Never seen a GroupOn deal before for staying in the hotels but there were plenty available last year, even in the height of summer.

I think my days of staying in the resort hotels are done. I would usually book 3 stays per year, pay a deposit on each then save up and pay the rest before my stay for each one in turn. However, given the crazy prices for a substandard product and that they want all the cash upfront now, forget it! I'd rather pay £60 and get a flexible rate at a travel lodge or holiday inn express down the road.

VR goggles and pre-book only tickets at £15 per pop.

.... Or something like that...

I would be very, very interested in any rumours to do with additions to the Hex experience. Please do elaborate, private message if necessary.

Take a look at my posts on this thread https://towersstreet.com/talk/threads/hex-if-and-when-will-it-return.4000/page-6

Rumours includes repairs to the automated retractable curtain, new projector, new lights and extended octagon pre-show by a few minutes, floor relaid, New floor special effect in the main vault using a screen and projector form charlie lifts (subject to getting a large enough screen).

I also heard rumours about using VR in the pre-show, but I've now been informed this now won't go ahead due to lack of money, so now there will be no way of seeing if there is any truth in this one

But also bear in mind that I also got the impression (from a different source than that above) that the scarefect would also be running over two consecutive weeks and the 3 day fireworks would both make a return this year as in previous years, but that looks like it won't be happening this year

So these rumours can just be rumours, only when Hex reopens, only then can we see if there were any truth in my information.

Why do you think N:ST has been shut down? 2 centuries to save up to make it better
