I thought they might have thrown in a complimentary pop badge to justify the price ;) Disney has been doing a lot of stuff like this with people paying extortionate money for fireworks desert parties etc. It looks Merlin are trying to cash in as well.

I can't see many people taking them up on it, but if people do it will be a nightmare for staff, promising people instant access. Even with Queue Bot or disabled passes you don't necessarily get instant access to the rides on a busy day, just a substantially reduced waiting time. You'd effectively have a situation where people are queue jumping past the people who are already queue jumping.

Presumably this is just a case of Merlin trying their luck, and not a serious part of their business plan, because if it is, they're a bit screwed.

Its all going potty at Legoland.

Up to 50 marijuana plants were found by workmen searching for asbestos on the site.
The derelict property is outside the Berkshire theme park's walls but within the 215-acre Legoland estate.

Police searched the area and closed off the building after the workmen uncovered the 3ft-high cannabis plants.

Theme park bosses said the vacant building, which is close to where visitors leave pets, is inaccessible to the public and 'appears to have been accessed via the Crown Estate' - land belonging to the Queen.

I dont know why cameras and movement detectors were not place so they could catch them.
 
So that's where Merlin get their inspiration for investments from!
 
I feel for the staff. That stash was probably the only thing keeping them from going on the murder spree that Legoland always makes me want to go on.
 
The issue as always is the 2for1 vouchers. £60 for two people is a reasonable price but Merlin won't take the plunge and just stop the 2for1s and price at a sensible level to begin with (£35 with a 10% online discount would be a good start).
 
They're really pushing vouchers or merlin's this year. A Merlin cost just £9 more Legoland annual pass, and there are discount tickets with McDonald's and oden cinema tickets. Shame they are excluding people who pay on the gate, but I can see why.
 
I would imagine Legoland will see one of the highest %age of people paying full whack.
The theme appeals to international guests, who are likely to buy their tickets from their London hotels concierge desk.
