TS Opening Weekend 2017

Don't forget to RSVP here!

Alton Towers re-opens for 2017 on Saturday, 25th March and our first official meet of the new season will take place over the weekend. The meet will include an optional accommodation option at Rugeley Travelodge on Friday and Saturday night, if you wish to join in with the food and drink at The Plaza (Wetherspoons) nearby, just 150 metres walk from the hotel.

Here's the plan:

Friday, 24th March 2017
8.00pm - Pre-meet social at The Plaza, Horsefair, Rugeley for food and drink
Accommodation option at Travelodge Rugeley

Saturday, 25th March 2017
9.30am - Meet at Box Office, Towers Street
Evening - Social at The Plaza, Horsefair, Rugeley for food and drink
Accommodation option at Travelodge Rugeley

Sunday, 26th March 2017
10.30am - Meet at Box Office, Towers Street

At the time of posting, rates at the Travelodge in Rugeley are £39 Friday and £49 Saturday - total just £88 for both nights based on up to 3 sharing - so you can stay for both nights for just £29 per person! Please note Rugeley is a 35 to 40 minute drive from Alton Towers so ensure you have transport available!

See you there!

I should be there for Saturday, no idea who I'll have in tow. Sunday I have no idea.

Should be there for the Sunday. May try to pull some strings at work to be there on the Saturday as well.

Should be there both days and will look into the Friday night also.

Will definetly be there Saturday. Hope for Friday night and Sunday depends on the mood of Saturday!

I should be there for both days. Unsure on stopping over yet, depends on prices and don't know if Sam is doing it.

Alton have posted on facebook that there is 46 sleeps till opening. If you have insomnia its only 23 :D

I should be there for the Saturday, but Dave and I may venture off to another local (undecided) tourist attraction on Sunday.

Anyone got a spare car seat for Saturday? I'd love to go to my first meetup, and I can take care of parking and such with my Premium Pass if needs be. I'd also be willing to pay what I would normally pay for travel to the resort. I live roughly 30mins from Alton Towers. Gotta love how reliable First are. Thanks in advance.
