Ahh, Surpr'Ice with the Magical Angels sounds interesting...

Three beautiful young women embark on a secret journey from Spain, via Italy, to Russia. Their mission: To ensure there is a solid water supply for the new water park. They finally end up in London where turbulent adventures await. Can they successfully complete their mission?

Let's see how long that storyline lasts! :p

:)

It's that time of year again when EP release their 10-minute long "new for this season" video!

It seems that Zwei Millionnen Sterne has been replaced by something else! And Geisterschloss fans rejoice as there's a new Jack the Ripper scene for this year.

Went to Europa Park Saturday and Sunday (how surprising you'll say :p ).
Except the work on Voletarium, and the news mentionned in the video above here is a quick sum up of what I've seen.

Talking about the shows, I must admit that this year is a very good year. We loved all the 3 Main ones, the favorite being Sonata Delle Carte in Theatro Dell Arte. The Ice show also is great, despite the strange storyline. The Arena show in Spain, even if not very different, stays fun to watch.

Not mentionned in the video above, is that Silver Star has a new entrance, and queue line extension. I hope it'll help avoiding queues in the path on busy day.

I was quite disappointed by the new VR film, it is not as good as the old "Ed and Edda" in my opinion. But the new VR entrance and system makes it very efficient, it's a very good news for the ride's throughput, but still not as good as no VR at all. ;)

Overall, and as always, lots of little things have been improved all over the park. Can't mention everything, as I surely haven't seen it all, and it would be way too long for one post. :p

Now can't wait for the Voletarium to open.

I wonder how many thousand possible permutations of queue you can string between those poles? Do you think the Euromir team have had to give the Silver Star team an intense two week training course ending in a exam where calculators are banned?

I'm sure @John could work it out. :p

I do enjoy the EP Junior Club videos that are uploaded to YouTube, but this one especially! Shows a bit of EP by night and a small amount of behind the scenes of a couple of attractions. :)

Well how wrong was I? The story lasted throughout the whole of the show, and what a very good ice show it is this year!

I was fortunate enough to be back at Europa-Park last week and needless to say that the park was as good as ever. A few notes from me on some 2017 changes:
  • The new exterior Silver Star queueline is a vast improvement
  • The new station set up for VR on Alpenexpress has improved dispatch times considerably
  • The ice show and Italy show are outstanding this year. Arena show is good also but similar to the previous show (although donkey FTW)
  • Had a lovely hour and a half one day sat in the 'new' Crocodile Bar sipping cocktails. I had never been in before so cannot say how the theming compares however it was so relaxing sitting out on the veranda and watching the world go by, plus the cocktails are cheaper than at the hotels!
  • New EP Camp David clothing is priced slightly lower than previous editions ;)
  • Large new scene in Geisterschloss was a nice surprise
  • There are new staff uniforms on Eurosat and Euro-Mir, the uniforms on both rides are identical
Also you may have noticed over on the EuropaStreet Facebook page that a new security checkpoint is currently being built as you enter the entrance plaza:

All guests coming in via the main entrance are now filtered through this. Although bag checks are random at present it was somewhat chaotic on Tuesday morning and took us about 15 minutes to get through. The other mornings were fine. A big fancy x-ray machine for bags is also being installed.

It is good to see EP taking security seriously but they are going to need to work hard to get this system running smoothly in order to avoid large delays getting into the park at peak times.

:)

Agreed, both of the whos are very high quality this year. Personnaly prefer Sonata Delle Carte, but the ice show is amazing. :)

I really enjoyed Sonata Delle Carte, especially The Joker, but I didn't think much of the Ice Show. It was fine, best bit was the Russian part and the Brexit machine at the end. :p

The Joker (Steve Eleky) is my least favourite part. It ruins the rythms of the show in my opinion. I personnaly don't find him funny, and he was part of at least 2 other shows in the past years with the exact same act. :p
