All i know is the park has been closed for the day after what the Tamworth Herald are saying has been described as 'a serious incident on a popular ride'.

Hope all is OK and it is just the media over hyping things.

Just did a quick Twitter hashtag search and there is a mention of a fatality. Air ambulance, police and fire services in attendance.

Looks like news is still breaking...

The park has been closed to new entries, with existing guests allowed to stay and being kept away from the area. This would be pretty standard considering evacuating the park would take up staff on who would be dealing with cordoning the area off etc. It would also prevent traffic building up, which with emergency services in attendance could also cause issues.

Hope it's not as serious as some reports have made it out to be, but the fact the park have posted about it already - it doesn't sound good :(.

Hmmm this does not sound good at all, got to admit that I am fearing the worst here. A police statement is due in the next hour.

:)

My thoughts are with all affected by this incident, it's not sounding good at all :(

The best we can do is just hope for some more positive news when the statement is released...

Hope everyone involved is alright, never good when things like this happen.

Prepare to buckle up your seat belts in Katanga Canyon before too long......

BBC now stating an 11 year old girl airlifted to Birmingham Children's Hospital. Hope the kid is alright.

BBC reporting that 11 yr old girl has been airlifted to hospital - I hope that this is positive news as air ambulances will not carry patients in an unstable condition (those are taken by road).

I live in Tamworth, past one of the main routes from the town towards the park and there has been a fair few emergency service vehicles going past the last few hours.
