Hi

Been lurking on the boards for a while and looking to go to Europa for thr first time in August. Advice please on how long we should go for for our first visit. We have two kids. One is 8 and over 1.30m and the other is 6 and over 1.20m. Both love rollercoasters and have sone rock n roller at disney. The 8 year old has done Taron at phantasialand. My questions are

1 how many days would you advise for a first visit?.

2 what offers do you normally get sent through with the annual pass.

3 Has anyone stayed in the Tipi tents? All the hotels are fully booked but the tents are still available.

Thanks for reading

Phil

Hi Phil, welcome to the forum!

I would recommend at least 3 days at Europa-Park, especially in August. I am visiting this August and having 4 days there, so 3 days minimum I would say. The park will be open until at least 8pm every day though.

With the Clubcard there are no perks like with the MAP, however it does emable you to purchase extras on top, such as a year's worth of park wifi (only €5 I believe) and an annual car parking ticket. There is just the one level of Clubcard.

As for the tipi tents, I can't comment as I have never stayed on resort (yet...) or even visited the Tipidorf, though I'm sure some other members have.

Hope this helps! :)

I'd suggest 2-3 days for a first visit - many of the more frequent visitors on the form (myself included) tend to do 3-4, but for first-time visitors it might be overkill - there's always the option of future visits! Just to note - Blue Fire has a slightly higher height restriction than Rock N Roller - 1.3m rather than 1.2m. Silver Star is 1.4m and Euromir 1.3m minimum, but aside from those 3 pretty much every ride in the park will be accessible so there will be plenty to do, especially once you factor in the numerous shows.

Offers for annual pass holders vary. They post out vouchers a few times per year, but it's usually nothing substantial. The most recent set of offers include a €5 voucher for the Schloss Balthasar restaurant, 50% off a mug and a spa discount. I've only ever used 1 voucher in about 4 years of being a pass holder, though part of that is due to the fact that some of them arrive after my final visit in any given year so I don't have the chance to use them.

The tipis are a good option providing you're all OK with camping, facilities are pretty basic but the site is well presented and perfectly pleasant. My last stay in an EP tipi was 10 years ago though, so my knowledge of them isn't particularly current. Alternatively, if camping isn't for you, there's a large number of guesthouses in Rust which will still have some availability. Some are even closer to the park than the tipi village. See this topic for more info.

I would advise against camping unless you are used to roughing it in that way. Tipidorf has shared bathroom blocks. Far from ideal even as an adult, never mind with younglings in tow. Check out guest houses in Rust, nearly all of them are better than living in a tent or shed.

If you love camping then the Camp Resort is great.

A Chuck Wagon or Log Cabin is a rustic way of spending time at EP.

3 days is a minimum for me for a first visit. August is normally very busy, but as said above the park wont close before 8pm. And it can go up to 9.30pm if it is very busy.
Sadly your boys wont be able to ride Silver Star, as 1.40m is required. But the oldest will be able to ride Bluefire (1.30m) and both should be able to ride Wodan (1.20m). And I'm sure they'd love Wodan!
Make sure to see the some shows too, as they are all very good. My favorite this year being the "Sonata Delle Carte" in the Theatro Del Arte. But the ice show in greece, and the Arena show in Spain (with knights and their horses) are also really nice and worth seeing.
If you Stay 3 days, even if the park is busy, you will have time to do everything at least once, and more for the main attractions.

Regarding the Tipis, I wouldnt recommend staying there. But as Dan says you can have a Log Cabin or a Chuck Wagon, and they are very nice. The camp resort itself is a nice quiet place in the evening, with a great atmosphere. Oh, and make sure to eat in the saloon once! (you can book even if you arent staying at the resort)
If everything is booked, try a guest house in Rust, they are usually really nice and not far from the park.

I can't believe im hitting Europa for the first time on sunday. There for three nights and 3 and a half days. Cannot bloody wait.

Im visiting for the first time next week and was wondering for some advice. I land in Basle at 10.40 and then pick up hire car and should be in Rust by 12. Would you recommend we go straight into the park on the friday or chill and then do all day saturday and sunday before flying back at 4pm on monday?

For your first trip, you'll need as much time on park as possible. You can chill in the evenings and enjoy the hotel bars, but once you get there, you won't be able to resist heading straight on park. :)

I would echo those sentiments, head on park. It will be open until at least 8pm on the Friday so you'll likely get 6 or 7 hours which could be invaluable time! There is so much to do and you can easily have some down time in one of the many park restaurants/bars if you would like to chill for a bit.

Also Imperio, the summer show at Hotel Colosseo, is on at 9.30pm for each day of your stay. It is open to everyone so I'd recommend seeing this one evening!

:)

Sadly its not just me! There are 4 of us. I think we will do friday and stay late and saturday and sunday and then chill monday morning!

That would be your best option for getting the most time on park yes!

Or, make a decision that you will return in the next 12 months and buy an annual pass! ;)

:)
