That is incorrect. There is a code inside the box that can be redeemed online.

I've not used them, but I would assume they are print at home tickets and if you can't print it you will need to queue at ticket collections to get your tickets instead.

We often use the Tesco Clubcard tickets and they are print at home tickets that can just be scanned straight at the turnstiles.
Oh, well i didn't know that . Thanks for correcting me!

Hello all, i'm planning on going Alton towers in October for Scarfest, I noticed last year they did not do the extreme-VIP- Calubs wedding or what ever its normally called! my question is, have they stopped this all together or just taking a break? will it be on this year? if it has stopped, is there a reason why?

thanks

I can't answer your question @maitland88 but just an FYI I moved your thread here to Quick Questions as it's more suited to smaller queries like this :)

This is a bit of a random question but I visited the park the other week and went on Smiler twice and both times it was horrible, really rough and I actually felt a bit dizzy coming off it. I remember people on here saying one of the trains is pretty rough...anyone know what number it is? I was on the front the first time and the back the second and it was pants both times! Didn't notice the number the first time but the second it was no 4.

Well train 4 is the 'new' one, so erm, yeah!! Although some trains are worse than others the poor trackwork/foundations mean that you'll never get a smooth ride on The Smiler, they'll always be jolts and so on.

:)

Are there taxi's waiting around outside Alton towers at the end of the day to get back to Stoke-on-Trent or will we have to order one in advance? We're coming to visit from abroad so unsure if our phones will work in the UK to be able to phone a taxi

I've never seen one myself. As it's a bit out of the way I'd presume that if you want a taxi you'll have to sort out pre booking one with a local firm.

Hi @Waster - I have moved your query to our Quick Questions thread which is more appropriate for things like this. As Wilko says, I'm pretty sure there is no taxi rank at Alton Towers so you would have to book a private hire vehicle. If you speak to someone at the Alton Towers Box Officer (on Towers Street) during your day then I'm sure they would be happy to arrange this for you.

:)

Does anybody know where the staff buses run to? And is it possible to commute on a daily basis from derby to towers using public transport ? :)

According to ridetimes, all the big rides are shut except Nemesis and Rita...anyone on park know why?
I'm guessing it's because of the weather. We've got strong winds and torrential rain in Staffordshire today.

Nemesis and rita have a higher wind speed limit. Looking at weather stations reading near alton, it is not suprising most big rides are shut.

I'm going to the Towers on Saturday and Sunday with 7 others. Bought the 2 day ticket with ERT on both days. Travelling for 2 hours to get there on the Saturday means we may not be there for ERT start at 9am. Will we be let in if we get there at, say 9.30?

Yes that is fine, you will be allowed access for ERT any time after 9am.

:)

Bribery could work. Exactly what to bribe them with, on the other hand, I'm not exactly sure. :p
