Trip Planning 2023/24: Information, advice and questions!

Looks really nice, and the missus is not to sure on doing 3 full days at Europa and was looking for something more in the way of relaxing. Doing Movie Park Germany (1 day), Phantasialand (2 days), Tripsdrill (1 day) Europa Park (2/3 days) & Holiday Park (1 day) so having one of Europa Parks days as a more relaxed one may help things.
 
There is a at least one spa in the on site hotels at EP if you wanted to do that. However if you head out to Badeparadies Schwarzwald for a day, you can also go see lake Titisee as well and possibly sneak in a quick alpine coaster on the way.

Er!!! Europa-Park is a great place for relaxing! Spend 2 days getting all the rides and attractions you want done and have the 3rd taking it easier. Or, take all 3 days easy and spread out what you do there. There are some beautiful places at EP to sit, relax, do nothing and enjoy the atmosphere (...and drink).
 
Hey, I'm staying in an apartment near the main entrance next week and was wondering how the monorail works in the evenings. Can I just rock up anytime after park closing and get on to go to the hotels? And do you need a park ticket for this? Cheers in advance for your help!

It is fairly easy to get it, in the most beautiful location and the coaster itself is incredible!

Just hope that what happened to me doesn't happen to you, @Robert Jones. Got caught in a thunderstorm whilst on the chairlift to go to the top and ride the thing. Got completely drenched, and going down the Hasenhorn was certainly an interesting experience when it threw it down once again. 10/10 would recommend doing it anyway, though. :p

Hi Ben,

If you aren't staying on resort (either Camp or Hotel Resort), then the staff may be a bit funny about you using the monorail. However, we got on at the end of the day in the summer and explained that we were going to see Imperio at Hotel Colosseo, which the operator was fine with. I think they just don't want you using the monorail to get to one end of Rust to the other. :p
 
You shouldn’t have any issues getting the monorail to the hotels but you’ll probably have to walk back. It’s only a 15 minute walk.

Thanks for heads up on this Rob. We did this after a pit stop at Lake Titisee. We took in the views and had a swift pint at the top before hurtling back down the mountain, great fun :)

Use booking.com - pretty much everything is decent.

For proximity to the park entrance, Pension Yvonne Sigg is great. Something more upmarket? Casa Rustica. Elzpark is an apartment complex but I think it has closed now.
 
Just returned from my first visit to Europa-Park.

Thanks for the help on the forum prior to my visit.

We flew from Stanstead to Karlsruhe / Baden-Baden Airport and then took the 285 bus to Baden Baden train station. We then took a train to Ringsheim with a change at Offenburg.

Because of our concerns over the 8.00pm last check-in time at Pension Marianna in Rust, we pre-arranged a taxi (taxi700.de) to pick us up from Ringsheim train station and take us to the apartment. In the end we arrived at around 7.00pm so all was ok.

Spent two days at Europa-Park (1st & 2nd Dec) and had a great time with the park fairly quiet both days. Both Wodan & Blue Fire were offering stay on re-rides for the last 45 mins or so. Just a shame Silver Star never opened.

We flew back to Stanstead from EuroAirport Basel Mulhouse Freiburg after spending a night in Basel.

Will definitely look at returning next year, but maybe look into the options of flying from Manchester/Birmingham.

During the main season, Ryanair do flights between Stansted and Strasbourg, which was an easy enough journey for us (Midlands). There are a few changes you have to get on the train but works out pretty cheap if you know what you're doing. Strasbourg airport station, with changes at Strasbourg, Offenburg and then you get the bus at Ringsheim.

We had the same problem re: check in times last year, as our flight meant we wouldn't arrive until 9pm due to delays. We told the place we would be arriving late and they were fine with it. :)
