Chatting at the bar on BPB, some scottish schools have already had their break...Glasgow for example, but east scotland is off now.
Some counties have told their schools to do what they like apparently, causing havoc with childminders!
And some schools have taken two training days to cover the 31st, as all their female teachers are witches, and they all need the day off.

Since AT Twitter are being useless, (probably because I called the AT website "unusable"), how do I collect park tickets that I booked with the hotel room, without printing them?
Is using my phone the ONLY way?

Also, since the Alton Towers website is worthless, what does "breakfast is served in Flambos Jambo from 7:30 am to 10:00 am on the 20th-29th oct" mean, for someone staying in SLH on the 30th of Oct?

What's everyone's obsession lately with actual physical tickets? I'm sure there's probably some way of them printing your tickets at the hotel check in but I'm not sure why you'd want to do this? All they'd be doing is printing a bar code on to a piece of thin card for you, something you can do at home on a piece of paper. If not, don't bother printing them at all and it's still the exact same bar code on your phone screen. Whether it's on a little piece of card with an advert on the back, on a piece of A4 or on your phone screen, it's the same barcode and does the same thing, so if you already have tickets online there's no need to worry about "collecting" tickets, you already have them!

If you're staying in Splash, Flambos will be open for breakfast in the morning. You'll be asked to book it at check in anyway. Even if it wasn't, you would just have breakfast in Secret Garden anyway and the breakfast is identical in each restaurant.

I think it is come down to 'the safety blanket affect'. We are tactile in nature, and by having a physical item has a phycological affect on the mind.

Jo the admin for my department at work sum it up nicely
"i know i can use my phone, however i feel reassured having them printed"

I am an annual pass holder at AT and I don't know if I should reserve my place for fireworks.
Do you guys know if I will be able to get in without booking or if I should reserve my place as I know fireworks is the busiest weekend of the year.

Okay! Keep ya hair on!

The issue is that my printer is playing up so that's a no go, and I'm scared that they won't scan off the phone, (it has genuinely happened twice before) and that's IF I can get it up, which leads on to my question,

Since the website is worse than Starlin riding CatCF, can anyone locate the "my booking" page on the AT site, I just spent over 35min looking for the wretched thing!

There's a link in the confirmation email to print tickets etc.

Turn your brightness up on the screen if they don't scan, that's usually why it doesn't work, the white bits are the important part in barcodes and some scanners see grey (or a dark screen) as black.

I'm the same as you though, always print off a hard copy even though I have the ticket on my phone.

They scan off phones regardless. I'm pretty sure even if it wouldn't scan they would let you through as otherwise you're just holding up the queue. Also times don't appear to matter as long as you turn up after your slot starts.

Follow the link from the email they sent after you booked. Barcodes often don't scan on phone screens, but that's their problem not yours. As long as you've proof of entry you're screen let them worry about how to process your entry on their system.

Half the reason barcodes don't scan very well on phones is because the phone screen tends to reflect the light like a mirror so it doesn't pick anything up

Go careful thinking that...Our Welcoming time was 6.30 on Sunday, we got in at 6.40 and the guy scanning the ticket said in passing that we only had 10 minutes left in our slot before we'd have been denied entry. I said that it says nothing about a 20 minute time slot on the home-printed ticket (which it didn't) and he said that they'd been told to enforce that ruling.

Interesting. I turned up for my slot over an hour late on Saturday and the guy looked at the time and didn't say anything!

Maybe it was because it was traveller day and was more busy. After all, no alcohol was being sold all day either which I can only assume was because of the travellers.
