I hear music, my favourite path has reopened for Scarefest (and Fireworks)!

The videos of the actors in London....... Eh? I don't see the point of that just in that I didn't see the connection between the Welcoming and SW8. Are Alton about to mess up the marketing again like they did with Thirteen?

From what I gather SW8 is not a 'scary' ride, it's not related to Scarefest, it's a wooden rollercoaster. We all know what a let down Thirteen was on opening day thanks to the marketing trying to sell it for something it wasn't, and I fear the same is happening with SW8.

I just don't see in any way how that 'advertising' in London in any way promoted the ride.... ???

Good to see the walkway is back open though.

I don't mind it to be fair. Its nicely themed and only at the start of the path. If, however, they get rid of the Katanga Canyon sign, I will be furious!
Well they might as well do! Just look at it, that path is no longer a part of Katanga Canyon. What a mess.

That isn't wrong it would have been much better if they had got planning permission for the original cross-valley woodie, but noise issues was one of the things that stopped it. Then there are the rumours of a woodie in Forbidden Valley (station where Blade is) which may have been better than SW8, but the Smiler incident and guest number uncertainty made them go for a cheaper option of the Flume site.
Therefore why not just be thankful for what we are getting, the first new wooden coaster in the UK for 25 years. Yes it could have been better, but we could also have got nothing at all!
I am personally really looking forward to this and think it could be something quite special.

I'm liking everything apart from the theme.

It's as if the park has acknowledged that they have no intention of maintaining theming anymore, so are just going to make everything look run down from the get go.

The ride itself looks fun, the theme itself is just another Dark Forest with a random structure in the middle of it, which is a shame.

I would have preferred a more family friendly theme ala the Runaway Minetrain.

Nothing says 'fun for all the family' like an out of control locomotive.

Disney seem to think so ;)

I can't remember seeing any attractions themed around human sacrifice rituals at any of their parks, but hey; I'm sure Merlin know what they are doing....
