The I Feel Down Topic.

I hope not to post in this topic very often, as I'm quite a positive person. But I feel like posting about this. I'm not feeling down as such, more strange than down. "Why?" I hear you ask. Because my family have literally just had to endure 2 deaths in 2 days. The first one was my great aunt, who died of a cardiac arrest aged 59 on Tuesday. The bizarre thing is that my great aunt had actually been in hospital for 5 weeks prior to her death with kidney failure and had become completely muddled over the course of the month (well, that's what my family said, anyway. I never actually visited her when she was in hospital.) It still came as a bit of a shock, though, because I thought she would eventually get better and come out (Note the word eventually.) The second one was my great great aunt, who died of an unknown cause aged 87 earlier today. I'm thinking she probably died of old age, but she didn't walk at all for the last 5 years of her life, which probably played a small part in why she died. Admittedly, my family weren't quite as sad about my great great aunt's death, as she was very old and we were all still in shock from my great aunt's death the previous day. My Nan also said to me that she had massively deteriorated over the last month or two and she reckoned that the shock of my great aunt's death might have put the final nails in her coffin, which isn't an implausible theory.

Sorry to dampen the mood, but I just wanted to get this off my chest. I hope to not post in here too often!

Don't be sorry for dampening the mood. This thread is designed for this type of stuff.
There is nothing i can say to make your feel better.
Just take care of yourself. And think of the good times you had with them.

Found out some devastating news about an hour or two ago about a friend of mine from school down in Cornwall. Her baby daughter passed away during the night. I just feel so heartbroken for her and her husband. :(

Awful - so sorry. Having a friend who lost her daughter aged 5, all I can say is talk to your friend and acknowledge her loss, and don’t be afraid to mention her daughter. My friend said it was horrible when people just stopped talking about her daughter (mostly people just didn’t know what to say) as it was like she had never existed. Your friend will always be her mum and her daughter will always be her daughter. Xx

Just learned that the x52 bus (the only way for me to get to AT for under £99999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999) is not running until the 26th :(

3rd day in hospital. Kinda hoped today was Home day but no.
Still no sign of me going home. Certainly won’t be for the weekend :(

Hope it was nothing to serious and you feel better. I know how that feels I went in hospital a while ago a&e and came out 12 days later then back in for 7 a month later. It wasn't nice being stuck in a bed with nothing to do. And then I got diagnosed with Crohns Disease in the process. And my life hasn't got much better since. :(
Hopefully at some point it'll change.

One year since the world lost Nicky Hayden, first championship I remember was 2006 when he won, and he is one of the guys that inspired me and made me who I am today. Remember meeting him in 2016 and he was genuinely one of the nicest and most down to earth person in the Paddock, and everyone that knew him would say the same. Never forgotten champ.

I'm surprised nobody's posted in this thread for well over a year!

I was visiting @IanB in Rotherham on Sunday with @Mike, and as I was leaving to drive back to the hotel in Derby, I noticed an awful noise coming from the front of my car. Contacted breakdown cover, who recovered the car to a garage in Sheffield, where it still is as I type this. Long and short is the alternator needs replacing, the alternator belt is damaged, there's something wrong with the clutch, and the air con pump isn't attached properly. It's possible that I won't get it back on the road for at least another week, which really isn't what I want. I'm just grateful I noticed the problem shortly after starting my return journey. Breaking down on the M1 would not have been fun at all. :p I just know it's going to cost a lot to get fixed. I would just like to thank Ian for delaying heading down to Cambridge to make sure we were OK, a friend of Mike's for helping us get the ball rolling with regard to where on earth to leave my car overnight, @Kelpie for her support regarding cars being a pain in the backside, @Poisson for getting us from Spoons to Sheffield station yesterday via the garage, and of course Mike for actually finding a garage where we could leave my car and also managing to keep me sane. You have no idea how much I needed that. :p

On a more positive note, if you're ever at Sheffield station, then you ought to visit the Sheffield Tap on platform 1b. Really good range of beers and ciders, and it's just a very nice place to sit and wait for a train.

See, every time I feel like crap and think about posting in here, I end up thinking "other people have it worse, suck it up!" But I'm sure some will say that bottling things up is bad, mmkay?

With that in mind, I have been in a very "low" state lately. The details of which don't matter right now.
Among many other things, I desperately need a holiday.
On my way in to work, I thought to myself, "right, game face on. Gotta pretend to be normal".
... Only for everyone at work to comment on how fresh faced and relaxed I look, asking where I went on holiday?

I guess my acting abilities are not affected.

As we have never met it may be weird but im in Buxton, so if you ever find yourself stuck in the same situation, its not far for me to drive out :)

I could never find the thread so sucked it up and put on a smile haha

In July my girlfriend of 6 years broke up with me. We own a house together and we both still live there (it is tense trust me). The old me would have moved out, given her the house and moved back down to Milton Keynes to my family. But I feel like I have to be a bit of a dick in this situation and refuse to move out and insist i want to live in the house. As otherwise will end up with nothing

As a joint owner, can't you either ask her to buy you out or force a sale? The last thing you want/need is her going to some liberal judge and getting a restraining order against you (I only mention because this happened to someone I know in a similar situation).

We are on good terms which is always a positive. We have agreed to live together for now. But it is clear one of us will have to move out at some point. We have said to relook at the situation in January and discuss getting an increase on the mortgage to buy the other out. Or sign a contract to say when they sell the other will get a %

Well whatever you do, don't get solicitors involved, they'll bleed you both dry.

It's a simple solution really:
Can you afford the extra payments to buy her out?
No? Put it on the market.

If the answer is also no for her, there's no option, sell up and move on.

Another answer is a short term lodger to cover half the mortgage while one moves out, or find another couple in the same boat (sadly there are many), and swap houses for half of each couple...I know of two blokes living in one house, two ex wives living in the other, even kid swaps at the weekend, so everyone gets time off from the kids!
Good look in your sh!t situation anyway.
Keep doing the coasters to keep your mind off it!
