I haven't eaten in Coasters since they moved it into the park. It was great on the front but never really appealed in its new location.

Yeah the old one was a great restaurant, they really should've found a way to have you be able to access it from the park. I remember having to walk all the way from the old north entrance back to the south entrance and along the prom to get in.

The in park Coasters was fine really but not as good.

Fond memories of eating at Coasters in the nineties, surrounded by memoribilia (even seated in a waltzer car if you were lucky), and the whole place slightly shaking when the PMBO dropped every minute or so. :)

Food at BPB was pretty good, and surprisingly varied back then, but Blackpool was still much more of a rounded destination.

Can you not get champagne just across the way - between Coasters and Crevettes.

In any case it did need a lick of paint in there as it’s showing its age. Just hope the pictures are retained.

They could make a great restaurant area in then arcade with the huge dome.
That dome deserves something better than the load of old slot machines it currently shelters from the rain.

Add a mezzanine 2nd floor seating area and make a ground floor food court with the chippie, jacket spud places from ouside of the big dipper in there; and provide somewhere reasonable to sit down for those places.
The slots can move by the big dipper, as I imagine they generate a decent return.

You'd hope they have plans for the dome, along with the bowladrome there the only areas of the park not to have seen any changes to in the past decade.

The Astro Swirl dome is an absolute dump. Cracked tiles all over the floor, loads of lights missing from the outside. I am not generally a fan of arcades in amusement parks though I appreciate that as a business they generate money for the park owners. I would love to see the dome and the Bowl A Drome replaced by rides / restaurants etc

I think the dome is getting to the end of its life, it leaks badly in the lancashire sunshine, and has been neglected for years.
The new bar at coasters will have a stunning view of Icon, and will be a good meeting point for non riders to view the rest of their group.

All for new bars, but BPB’s last attempt has not been a roaring success. In fact Loki’s upstairs seems to be closed more than open now. Coasters should have more passing trade though.

As for that arcade, totally agree. The place is an absolute disgrace. All the more surprising given how much attention is placed on aesthetics in so many other areas of the park. Even the new Vimto shop between the two entrances is rarely open. I feel like there is a big opportunity to completely redesign this area. Perhaps a little demolition? There could well be a nice selection of F&B, retail and perhaps even a small ride. Given it’s right next to Thrill-o-Matic maybe there’s even an extension of this theme which could be applied.

A Food court based on Aardman films...
Mrs Tweedy's Pies
The Endangered Species Club sandwiches
Anti Pesto pizza co.
Piella Bakewell Puddings
That would be fantastic...
Why has no one thought of that idea before? That would be awesome! :)
You ought to send that idea to the PB!

Blackpool and HB leisure disagree who should improve the game areas of the park, HB Leisure rent them and believe the park should up keep them, The Park believe that HB leisure should pay some of the improvement charges as they make the money from them and would gain more from any improvement works as more people would visit them.

I think long term the park will improve areas and move HB to new sites within the park and then renovate for new rides/ restaurants etc

Wonder if the park will replace Steeplechase's horses with these new ones from S&S?
